Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship
The position of Senior Risk Management Assistant is assigned to the Treasury and Liquidity Risk Division (RMTL) within the Office of Risk Management. You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.
You will report to designated Technical International Staff and Officer as applicable.
Your Role
As a Senior Risk Management Assistant, you will provide analytical and technical support on the following: (i) fundamental risk assessment and reporting of different types of credit risks arising from ADBs treasury operations; (ii) utilization of credit risk tools to monitor and assess counterparties credit profiles; (iii) compliance monitoring and related investigations for exposures arising from treasury operations; (iv) data checks to verify accuracy and integrity of inputs into risk management processes and reports including trade data, market data and credit ratings; (v) facilitating the systematic generation of credit risk limits compliance monitoring reports; and (vi) support RMTL system enhancement initiatives.
You Will
Credit Risk Assessment and Risk Reporting
- Use credit risk tools, both scheduled and ad-hoc, to assess and monitor the credit profiles of treasury counterparties and investments, including credit default swap (CDS) spreads, security prices and probability of default metrics and news developments.
- Prepare counterparty credit reviews with guidance from senior credit analyst staff.
- Support the preparation, monitoring and reporting of credit risks arising from treasury investments and counterparty exposures for inclusion in bank-wide risk reports and reporting requirements to credit rating agencies.
Credit Risk Limits Compliance Monitoring
- Prepare daily production data, including the systematic downloading of positions and securities attributes from internal and third-party sources, and help generate compliance monitoring and other reports.
Sovereign, Depository Bank, Swap Counterparty Watchlist Update
- Monitor ratings updates for accurate representation in daily reports.
- Present market developments at regular counterparty watchlist review meeting.
Management of Counterparty Attributes Data
- Verify changes, investigate exceptions and send email alerts to ORM team and other stakeholders on credit rating changes.
Credit Risk Tools
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned.
You Will Need
- Bachelors degree preferably in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or related field. A certified public accountant or chartered financial analyst designations is an advantage.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience with financial markets and risk concepts including credit ratings, Probability of Default, Loss Given Default and derivative transactions.
- Experience assessing counterparty credit risk and portfolio stress testing.
- High proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.
- Experience using relevant applications such as Bloomberg is an advantage.
- Written and verbal proficiency in English.

Additional Information
This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.
This is a fixed-term appointment for an initial fixed period of 3 years. At the end of the initial period, this appointment may, at the option of ADB, be extended once for up to 2 years, converted to a regular appointment, or ended on its expiration date. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB that: (a) it will require Staff’s particular blend of skills and experience in the foreseeable future; and (b) Staff’s performance is satisfactory and they are suitable for further employment.
