Senior Interior Designer - Workplace

Role description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our Workplace team within Arcadis’ Global Excellence Centre. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high profile international projects in collaboration with teams across North America, Europe, and APAC.

You will play a key role in shaping workplace environments through intelligent space planning, rapid test fit development, and technically sound design solutions. The role directly contributes to delivery excellence across global accounts.

Role accountabilities:

Workplace Planning and Test Fit Leadership

• Lead the development of high quality blocking, stacking, and workplace test fits.
• Deliver clear, efficient, and well balanced layouts within tight turnaround timelines.
• Translate client requirements, headcount data, and growth projections into practical and compelling spatial solutions.
• Integrate circulation logic, early code awareness, and client standards into planning proposals.
  
  

Quality and Technical Oversight

• Review and refine layouts to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with project objectives.
• Support adherence to Arcadis standards and client requirements.
• Proactively identify planning risks and resolve challenges early in the design process.
  
  

Global Collaboration

• Work closely with regional design teams under a “One Team” approach.
• Contribute to coordination calls, design workshops, and client presentations when required.
• Communicate effectively across time zones and multidisciplinary teams.
  
  

Mentorship and Team Development

• Guide junior designers in workplace planning principles and best practices.
• Contribute to a collaborative and high performing team culture.
  
  

Digital and Innovation

• Utilize BIM workflows and visualization tools to improve efficiency and communication.
• Support digital initiatives and continuous process improvement within the team.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related discipline.
• 12 years + of experience, with a proven track record in Workplace design with strong expertise in blocking, stacking, and high volume test-fitting
• Demonstrated ability to produce accurate layouts under tight deadlines.
• Experience supporting international projects, particularly North America or APAC, is preferred
• Strong communication skills and confidence presenting design solutions
• Experience with visualization tools such as SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion, or Twinmotion is an advantage
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (required), with working knowledge in Revit.
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential to this role.
• Strong command in written and spoken English is essential.
• Open-mindedness and enthusiasm for contributing to the team’s digital initiative and process automation efforts.
