Senior Data Engineer Data Architect - Power BI Dev

The role

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to define, design and govern Symbos’ enterprise data architecture. this role is responsible for building and evolving a modern, secure and scalable data platform that supports advanced analytics and data‑driven decision making across the organisation.

You will take ownership of our data architecture and Microsoft Fabric environment, working closely with technology and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality, reliable and future‑ready data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, maintain and evolve Symbos’ enterprise data architecture aligned to business strategy and security standards
• Design and lead the development of a modern cloud‑based data platform, including data warehouse and lakehouse architectures
• Own the architectural design and best‑practice adoption of Microsoft Fabric across the organisation
• Design and govern logical, physical and semantic data models for analytics and reporting
• Build and oversee scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation and modelling from multiple source systems
• Ensure data platforms are designed for performance, scalability, resilience and security
• Embed data governance, quality, lineage and access controls into data solutions
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into practical data and analytics solutions
• Provide architectural guidance and assurance across data‑related initiatives
• Support capability uplift through documentation, mentoring and knowledge sharing
  
  

• Strong experience in enterprise data architecture, data warehousing and lakehouse design
• Hands‑on experience with modern cloud data platforms, ideally within the Microsoft ecosystem (Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services)
• Solid understanding of data modelling techniques such as dimensional modelling and star schemas
• Experience designing data integration patterns using SQL, APIs and cloud‑based data stores
• Knowledge of data governance, security and compliance principles
• Experience supporting analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• A collaborative mindset with experience guiding or mentoring team members
• Post‑secondary qualifications in a relevant field are desirable
