Senior BIM Modeller

Off the back of major project wins and growing pipeline of work in our Renewables, Substations & Transmissions and Distribution & Lighting, Arcadis is seeking suitable applicants for a Senior BIM Modeller, to cover a broad range of Australian projects in the aspects of electrical and communications infrastructures, roadway, substations and solar farms in our Manila Team.

Role description:

• To assist the BIM Manager to deliver the allocated projects to meet the project goals and deliverable dates
• To provide 3 stages of drawing work during project execution: Drawing Set-up, Drawing Production and Drawing Submission
• To lead the team in drawing production and standard implementation in strategic direction as instructed by BIM Manager.
• To support in providing direction in emerging technologies associated with CAD and Revit Researches and develops opportunity for process improvement, application and data integration with CAD and Revit.
  
  

Role accountabilities:

The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

General

• Gaining experience/skill in modelling/drafting of electrical systems in electrical and communications infrastructures, road and tunnel lighting.
• Prepare technical drawings, plans and designs for electrical and communications infrastructures, substations and transmission lines, solar farms, electrical and communications utilities, Council and local standards and requirements.
• Self-checking of own work and following Arcadis systems and processes.
• Continually improving the delivery of project through standardization.
• Using digital innovation to improve efficiency in delivery of documentation.
• Assist with the design and drawing operation of assigned projects.
• Support the engineers with issues related to drawing standards and usage of Revit/AutoCAD.
• Participate in the resolution of technical issues.
• Participate in training opportunities to expand skillset from drafting tasks to modelling/design tasks.
  
  

COMMERCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Record man-hour charges accurately into weekly timesheets and ensure correctness of project and non-project man hour charges.
• Ensure all BIM Modellers supporting him/her are fully utilized
• Where gaps in workload appear, you will be required to support other Electrical groups or undertake training in accordance with the Team training plans.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Resource and develop skills and knowledge base of BIM Modellers assigned to projects
• Liaise with Team Leader, Design Managers, BIM Managers, and BIM Coordinators assigned to projects
  
  

OTHERS:

• Liaise with Arcadis Region Offices counterparts and other consultants as appropriate to the projects.
• Take responsibility for defined tasks within prescribed limits.
• Gain experience and proficiency in Arcadis systems and procedures.
• Become familiar and compliant with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• At least 3-4 years’ experience in modelling and drafting of electrical building MEP, and/or electrical and telecommunications infrastructure services either in Philippines, Australia, UK, USA, Middle East and/or other countries.
• Knowledge of BIM and drafting, how to define BIM outcomes, BIM processes, how to coordinate a BIM project within the 3D environment and how to apply design to the models they produce.
• Suitable vocational qualification in CAD/Drafting or Bachelors degree.
• Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, sketches, and red-line markups.
• Ability to work well within a team and a positive attitude to your work, reliable and retain high quality of work output.
• Experience in the production of CAD documentation to Australian Utility Standards and other international design standards utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, etc.
• Can quickly adapt to drawing standards.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating and delegating skills.
• Organizational skills and proactive approach in project management.
