Our Functional Area

Technology at White & Case plays a key role in enabling our lawyers in practicing law around the world.

Our team comprises of three functions: Business Services – who maintains, develops and supports our enterprise systems, Operations – who designs, builds and supports our communications and data center operations, and Technology Support – who provides desktop, audio visual and training support. Together we support our lawyers with leading edge technology and systems to deliver elite legal and best-in-class client service.

Globally-minded, our team covers a range of technical disciplines and business skill sets. This encompasses business analysts, data architects, application developers and engineering staff covering a range of technologies that include virtualization, cloud, networking, storage, collaboration services and security. We deploy the latest technology and hardware within our state-of-the-art offices. Our technical support staff support and train our people on the latest hardware and operating systems, remote working capabilities and mobile devices. Our Shared Services centers deliver Service Desk and Operations functions that support our colleagues and monitor Firm systems 24 x 7.

Working closely with our business services colleagues to support the Firm’s Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, and Knowledge systems, the Technology Department is at the heart of the Firm’s global operations.

Position Summary

The Project Coordinator supports projects, programs and portfolio managers in planning, coordinating, implementing and executing technology projects. Under the guidance of a project or portfolio manager, the Project Coordinator may also manage smaller projects or specific workstream independently to ensure successful delivery.

Duties and Accountabilities1

Project Support And Coordination

  • Maintain and update project plans under the direction of a project or portfolio manager
  • Assist in managing day-to-day aspects of project
  • Help organize project status meetings, issue notes, track and conduct follow-up actions
  • Document and track risks and issues (RIDAC) that could impact project success
  • Track project budget and ensure expenditures are within the set budget
  • Ensure artifacts are complete, current, and stored appropriately
  • Help the PM to create engaging, informative, well-organized project presentations when required (e.g. kick-off call presentation, steering committee updates)
  • Develop project, program or portfolio status reports for PM and PgM sign-off
  • Support the project close-out process

Program/Portfolio Management Support

  • Help track risks and dependencies within the program, other programs or even other portfolios
  • Consolidate and create program/portfolio-level reports and dashboards
  • Assist Portfolio Managers in overseeing the project portfolio health.

Qualifications

  • Desire to pursue PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology or related field
  • 2-4 years of project management or IT Management
  • Minimum 2 years of experience coordinating and/supporting IT business processes
  • Possesses a basic understanding of Waterfall and Agile project methodologies
  • Ability to establish relationships with business and technology professionals
  • Interested in creatively solving challenges within given constraints
  • Business acumen and some presentation skills
  • Previous experience as a business analyst is a plus
  • Understands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures
  • Demonstrated awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Visio, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience working with international teams a plus

  • Ability to translate technical requirements into actionable project plans and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Adept at balancing structure and flexibility in dynamic, fast-paced environments while maintaining focus on delivery excellence.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills; able to engage confidently with leadership, end users, and technical specialists.
  • Interest in creatively solving challenges within given constraints
  • Demonstrated awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application of client engagements

Location and Reporting

  • This role reports to a Portfolio Manager
  • This is a hybrid role to follow local office work policies
