Remotee is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to join the Commercial team of a Western Australian Gold Mining company, delivering a comprehensive and value-added approach to procurement and contract management for the Paddington operation and upcoming projects. Reporting to the Procurement Lead, this role covers expediting, logistics, contract management, and category management.
You'll engage closely with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic business objectives, ensuring timely delivery of materials, strong supplier relationships, and accurate, professional reporting across all procurement activities.
Mandatory Requirements
Proven end-to-end procurement experience.
Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or a relevant field.
Competent user of the MS Office suite and other relevant supply chain software and applications.
Ability to calculate procurement costs and recommend methods to decrease expenditure.
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
High level of efficiency, stress management, and multitasking skills.
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadline requirements.
Strong problem-solving ability, with the ability to coordinate and liaise effectively across stakeholders.
Relationship building and maintenance ability.
Responsibilities
Prepare and issue tender documentation, enquiries, and purchase orders for high value/high-risk items.
Arrange commercial and technical evaluation of bids, ensuring purchase orders comply with appropriate specifications.
Expedite materials for operations to be delivered on time.
Monitor transport and communicate with logistics companies for the delivery of materials.
Identify and recommend appropriate procurement strategies to minimise costs without compromising service levels.
Develop a sound knowledge of the supplier base to maximise their contribution to the business, in line with the company's local market development policy.
Ensure timely purchasing commitments to meet customer requirements.
Attend material status meetings with customers, keeping them updated on the progress of all outstanding orders/requisitions.
Develop detailed material knowledge across a varied product range.
Provide procurement support for the Binduli project.
Coordinate with suppliers for spare parts delivery.
Draft bilingual reports as required for department activities and functions, where applicable.
