Principal Structural Engineer

Role description:

• Arcadis GEC Team – coordinating activities required to produce engineering deliverables. May be required to act as a Line Manager
• Technical staff – managed to ensure delivery to time and cost and Client office expectations
• Regional office stakeholders – Scope works, estimate budgets, agree project objectives, communicate project status and facilitate resolution of project issues and risks
• In a Task Manager role, manage technical staff to ensure delivery to required time, cost and quality parameters
• Recognized locally as a technical expert within a market sector
  
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing technical aspects of larger and/or more complex tasks or components of projects, meeting financial, quality, timeframe and health and safety objectives
• Manage the delivery of elements of larger projects in accordance with Arcadis management systems to meet time, quality, budgetary and health and safety targets
• Typically assigned to provide a controlling technical role on medium size and/or moderately complex tasks in single discipline
• Coordinate and manage teams of single (own) discipline engineers and technicians
• May undertake a Task Management Role in line with Arcadis Task Manager Academy competence requirements
• Work to ensure maximum internal stakeholder satisfaction, championing care and proactively working with internal stakeholders
  
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from recognized University.
• A master’s degree is an advantage.
• Licensed Registered Civil Engineer
• Possess 7-15 years of relevant professional experience
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is an advantage but is not required.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to provide solutions to technical problems and excellent mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations.
• Ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating and delegating skills.
• Organizational skills and proactive approach in project management.
• Highly proficient in the application of international design standards such as: UK, US, European, Canadian, Local Codes.
• Highly proficient in structural engineering design fundamentals
• Knowledgeable in AUTOCAD, REVIT, Navisworks and BIM environment.
• Highly proficient in using engineering software such as: ETABS, SAFE, STAAD, ROBOT, PROKON, TEDDS, RAM Connection, etc.
• Programming knowledge using C++, Python, Dynamo is an advantage.
• Actively continue to develop personally and technical knowledge and new emerging technology through regular CPD training.
