Role Overview Summary

To develop and support delivery of the GPACT policy and advocacy strategy working closely with the Project Manager, implementing partners, MEL Coordinator and the Communication national volunteer. To provide technical support on WPS Policy and Advocacy to the implementing partners and extend to other VSO project areas ensuring social accountability and effective CSO/citizen engagement with national, regional and local Duty-bearers on issues pertaining to Women, Peace and Security, community resilience and sustainability.

Ideal Applicant Summary

• Experience in policy and advocacy, preferably in gender and peace.
• Knowledge of advocacy methods appropriate for a range of audiences
• Strong background in social accountability initiatives including application of its tools and processes
• Facilitation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills – verbal communication skills
• Report writing skills

Additional Information

Allowance and accommodation

All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency. The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country.

VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.
