As SafetyCulture continues to rapidly scale a newly created opportunity has arisen for a hands on and commercially astute Payroll Officer to join our finance team. This is a unique opportunity to join the finance team for one of the worlds fastest growing global SaaS companies and Australian owned Tech unicorns. This would be an incredible opportunity for a Payroll officer looking to take the next step in their career as we continue to grow our global operations. Joining a high performing team, you will be comfortable to roll up your sleeves and the day to day in addition to driving key project.

What will I be doing?

  • Support pre-payroll administrative activities across US/AU/UK pay cycles, ensuring payroll inputs are complete, accurate, and submitted within required timelines.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll data, including starters, changes, and leavers, ensuring data integrity across payroll and HR systems.
  • Monitor, validate, and follow up on timesheet submissions and leave approvals to ensure payroll readiness and minimise late or incorrect payments.
  • Support end-to-end payroll processing across assigned regions, ensuring accurate and timely payment in compliance with local legislation and company policies.
  • Act as the first point of contact for Level 1 payroll queries via the Payroll inbox and Finance Helpdesk, providing timely and clear responses to employees and stakeholders.
  • Support month-end and year-end payroll activities, including reconciliations, reporting, and audit preparation.
  • Assist with ad hoc payroll administration and process improvement initiatives as required to support business and team needs.

What do I need?

  • 2–3 years’ payroll experience; exposure to global or high-growth environments is desirable.
  • Degree in Accounting, Business, HR, or related field preferred, with strong numerical skills.
  • High Attention to detail and ability to prioritize different tasks
  • Customer centric approach and strong communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in a global payroll environment or high growth technology business. (Desirable not essential)
  • High integrity and discretion, handling sensitive information with tact and empathy.
  • Proactive and improvement-oriented, identifying issues and driving better payroll outcomes.
  • Experience with Employment Hero is desirable but not essential.
