Job Description

Our Journey

ShopBack began in 2014 as a late-night spark of inspiration between Henry and Joel — not just to build a Cashback platform, but to reimagine how brands and consumers connect. As former advertisers, they understood the limitations of traditional marketing, and saw an opportunity to deliver more value on both sides. That idea quickly turned into action, and the first prototype was built over a weekend with the other co-founders. Today, ShopBack serves over 50 million users across 13 markets, partners with 20,000+ merchants, and powers over half a million transactions daily. Were building The World’s Most Rewarding Way to Shop — and looking for bold, driven individuals to join us.

We’re hiring a performance-focused video editor to help scale paid social growth through speed, testing, and sharp execution. This role sits at the engine room of performance marketing—where creative decisions directly impact learning, revenue, and scale.

This is not a concepting or brand film role. Instead, you will take existing video assets and rapidly edit, reformat, and recombine them into high-volume hook and variation sets for testing across paid social platforms. This role is about execution, velocity, and learning through testing. It isn’t about owning concepts, directing shoots, or polishing a single hero asset.

If you’re motivated by seeing direct impact, developing strong performance instincts, and mastering short-form paid social at scale, this role offers a steep and valuable learning curve.

This role will be supporting the Australia and New Zealand markets.

Your Adventure Ahead

  • Turn existing video assets into multiple paid social variations designed for testing and learning.
  • Create and test different hooks, intros, CTAs, cut-downs, and framing from the same source footage.
  • Reorder and recombine clips to explore new performance angles and narratives.
  • Optimise assets for platforms such as Meta and TikTok, with attention to scroll behaviour and attention dynamics.
  • Deliver high-volume, fast-turnaround edits on a daily or near-daily cadence.
  • Partner closely with performance and growth teams to iterate based on real results.
  • Build organised, repeatable editing workflows that prioritise speed and clarity.

What Success Looks Like

  • One source video becomes 10–30 clear, testable variations.
  • Creative is shipped daily or near-daily, enabling rapid experimentation.
  • Each edit has a clear testing purpose (e.g. hook, CTA, framing, pacing).
  • Early performance metrics improve over time—hook retention, watch time, CTR.
  • You operate with increasing independence and confidence in performance judgment.

Essentials To Succeed

  • 1–3 years of experience editing paid social ads, with a focus on short-form, performance-driven creative.
  • Strong hands-on editing skills using tools such as Premiere Pro, After Effects, and/or CapCut.
  • Solid understanding of:
  • Hook-driven editing
  • Scroll and attention behaviour
  • Short-form performance dynamics
  • Comfortable working fast and shipping imperfect-but-testable assets.
  • Open to performance feedback and confident iterating based on results.
  • Portfolio demonstrating multiple variations created from the same source footage.
  • Nice to Have
  • Experience working alongside growth or performance marketing teams.
  • Familiarity with Meta and TikTok ad specs and common creative pitfalls.
  • Basic motion text, captions, and performance-oriented overlays.
  • Experience localising or versioning content across different markets.
