The position is primarily responsible in providing assistance in the development and implementation of the Operational Risk Management (ORM) framework designed to ensure that the Bank effectively and efficiently manages various types of operational risks arising from the business activities of the bank, and that all relevant operational and IT risks are identified, managed and monitored within the Bank’s risk appetite.
Responsibilities
Assist the ORP Team Head in the implementation of the Operational Risk Management (ORM) framework, processes and tools (RCSA, KRIs, Loss Events) to ensure that all relevant operational and IT risks are identified, managed and monitored within the Bank’s risk appetite.
Assist the ORP Team Head in the formulation, completion, and annual updating of the manuals for ORM, including the risk appetite statements, policies and standards.
Coordinate with the first line of defense in the conduct and completion of the annual Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) for assigned business areas and in challenging the results to aid in the management of operational risk and in the analysis of the operational risk profile.
Coordinate with the first line of defense in establishing Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and facilitate the analysis of KRI data for trends, emerging risks, and breached thresholds.
Coordinate with the first line of defense in the collection, reporting and analysis of operational loss event data.
Assist the ORP Team Head in the conduct of Operational Risk Management awareness and appreciation programs for the Business Risk Officers/Subsidiary Risk Officers/Business Risk Coordinators and all BPI Group employees.
Assist the ORP Team Head in facilitating the monthly Operational Risk Management Committee (ORMC) meetings, ensure the submission of the operational and IT risk reports to senior management and board committees, and serve as the ORMC secretariat.
Assist the ORP Team Head in the updating of relevant management and regulatory reports as far as operational risk management is concerned, such as select portions of the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP).
Qualifications
Graduate of Business, Banking and Finance, Management, Law or other related course
At least one (1) year experience in banking or any relevant business processes and operations, risk management, internal audit or compliance, information technology or information systems or project management
Understanding of information security, policy formulations, internal controls, and relevant bank compliance and regulations
Good analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and written)
