About The Team

The Operational Risk Management Lead is part of the second line of defense and provides independent oversight of the Company’s operational risk management activities. The role supports Senior Management in ensuring that operational risk-taking activities are aligned with the Bank’s approved risk appetite, strategies, and regulatory expectations.

Job Description

Operational Risk Oversight

• Provide independent oversight of the Bank’s operational risk management activities, including review, challenge, validation, monitoring, and reporting of key operational risk frameworks and programs (e.g., Outsourcing, Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Risk Incident Management).
• Support the development and monitoring of operational risk appetite statements, indicators, and thresholds, and assist in elevating recommendations to Senior Management and relevant committees.
• Serve as a trusted risk advisor to business units on operational risk management matters.
  
  

• Support Senior Management in promoting a strong risk culture through training, awareness, and engagement initiatives.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance operational risk management policies, procedures, standards, and supporting tools in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
• Facilitate and participate in risk-related discussions and governance forums, including New Product Approval, Outsourcing reviews, Business Continuity Management (BCM), RCSA, Risk Incident Management, and related risk processes.
  
  

• Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs), control testing results, incidents, and identified gaps against defined thresholds, and provide meaningful analysis and insights to Senior Management.
• Conduct risk assessments and gap analyses arising from regulatory developments, supervisory findings, or industry practices, and support the alignment of policies and procedures across the Bank.
  
  

• Prepare operational risk reports, dashboards, and analysis for Senior Management, risk committees, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate and support audit and regulatory reviews, including engagement with internal auditors, external auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders, and track agreed action items.
  
  

• Provide guidance, coaching, and development support to operational risk team members, as applicable.
• Foster collaboration within the risk function and with first-line teams.
  
  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Finance, Accountancy, Management, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in risk management within a banking or financial services environment, with a focus on operational risk.
• Practical experience in operational risk frameworks and processes such as RCSA, incident management, outsourcing risk, BCM, and new product approval
• Good understanding of banking/e-wallet/payment processing operations, systems, products, and supporting technologies.
• Working knowledge of BSP regulations and relevant banking laws and regulatory expectations.
• Experience in leading or mentoring team members is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Proficient in written and verbal English; able to present risk matters clearly to Senior Management and committees.
