About The Role

We are seeking a highly proactive, results-driven, and team-oriented professional to join our team as Manager, Capital Markets Loan Operations. This role is critical to help manage our existing loan portfolios and ensure we have sufficient liquidity as we continue to scale operations.

Success in this role demands strong technical corporate finance skills, experience with high-volume loan portfolios, and a track record of successful loan operations execution (acquired at a bank, mortgage company, or fintech). We are a mission-driven team, and are seeking a collaborative individual to bring a critical thinking approach, combined with the ownership mindset of a builder: someone who thrives in ambiguity, learns independently, and communicates cross-functionally with clarity and initiative.

What Youll Do

Support Lending Activities

• Monitor loan disbursement and documentation; ensure loan tape is in compliance with lending guidelines and restrictions set by our capital providers.
• Support the ongoing diligence, compliance, and reporting processes, for Tala’s lenders and capital providers.
• Partner with legal, operations, and accounting teams to ensure loans are properly onboarded, accounted for, and documented.
• Support Data & Analytics team to verify that loans are booked correctly and all data fields are accurate; ensure that all post-closing documents are in order and match credit underwriting criteria.
  
  

Facility Management

• Support ongoing investor relations, investor/lender reporting, and relationships with banks, lenders, investors, and intermediaries, particularly loan channeling partners in SE Asian markets.
• Build and monitor dashboards and reports to track new loan origination, loan repayments, performance statistics and adherence to Tala lender contractual requirements.
• Coordinate loan collateral tracking, cash balance tracking, and borrowing base adequacy across Finance, Accounting, and Treasury teams.
• Support refinancing, upsizing, product, and underwriting enhancements as needed.
  
  

Loan Portfolio Reporting & Technology Integration

• Manage covenant compliance for existing debt portfolio; ensure loan portfolios are aligned with risk management policies.
• Ensure all loans are in compliance with local regulatory requirements.
• Implement and maintain next-generation portfolio management software systems.
• Partner with the Product and Engineering teams to automate portfolio reporting and analytics work flows.
• Perform portfolio performance tracking and delinquency reporting.
  
  

What Youll Need

• 2+ years of loan processing or loan officer roles at a bank, commercial lender, or similar financial institution.
• Proven ability to self-start and figure things out independently in dynamic, unstructured environments.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills.
• Deep understanding of asset-based finance, debt structuring, fintech lending, payments, decentralized finance, stablecoins, asset tokenization and securitizations.
• Proven ability to prepare financial models, internal and external reporting memoranda (i.e. Confidential Information Memos and Portfolio Summaries).
