Nimbyx and EviSmart™ are reimagining the future of dentistry through AI-powered workflow automation and CAD design outsourcing. Trusted in over 26 countries, our mission is to make dental care smarter, faster, and better — and we’re achieving it through powerful technology that connects dentists, labs, and manufacturers worldwide.
About The Role
We are seeking a Lead Engineer – Workflow Automation to serve as the Technical Steward of the EviSmart Lab Automation ecosystem. This role goes beyond typical software engineering—you will architect and maintain the mission-critical backbone that governs automated lab workflows, ensuring stability, scalability, and seamless interoperability between systems.
You will act as a Player-Coach, personally taking on the most complex automation challenges while guiding the engineering team toward consistent technical excellence. Your work will directly influence stability, operational throughput, and the quality of AI-ready lab data.
What You’ll Do
Technical Steward of Automation: Act as the Technical Steward for the entire EviSmart Lab Automation platform, setting the code and integration standards for all included components (Case Downloaders, Entry, QC, LMS, Digitizer).
Player-Coach Execution: Act as the Player-Coach, personally coding the most complex automation and integration services (e.g., interfacing with physical digitizer hardware or legacy LMS systems), while mentoring the team on technical standards and error handling.
Workflow Codification: Design and build the foundational backend services and logic that integrate and govern the entire automated case flow, ensuring seamless and error-free data transfer between all components.
API Integrity: Own the stability and performance of the internal APIs that allow the Hive (AI-Master Agent) to interact with the lab case data, making sure the AI training efforts are fed clean, consistent data.
Quality Gates: Integrate technical quality gates within the workflow to prevent flawed data or processes from moving to the next step, thereby reducing the operational rework rate.
What We’re Looking For
8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
At least 3+ years in a senior or technical leadership capacity (e.g., Staff Engineer, Team Lead).
Proven Player-Coach track record: hands-on building core systems while mentoring engineers.
Deep expertise in C#, .NET, ReactJS, Azure, and cloud-based workflow services.
Strong understanding of scalable, high-volume, mission-critical system design.
Experience integrating with physical hardware or legacy business systems is a plus.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
First-Principles thinker with a relentless focus on stability before optimization.
Strong debugging, problem analysis, and systems-thinking abilities.
Able to thrive in fast-paced environments with rapidly evolving workflows and requirements.
What Success Looks Like
Primary KPI: Automated Workflow Integrity Rate
Definition: Percentage of lab cases that pass through the full EviSmart automated software workflow without technical issues or interruptions.
Goal: ≥ 99.0% successful automation flow.
Additional Indicators
System Stability: Minimal automation-related operational disruptions.
Code Quality: Low error rates, maintainable architecture, and predictable performance.
Team Impact: Improved engineering standards and knowledge across the team.
Workflow Efficiency: Reduced manual intervention and rework rates.
Why Join Us?
Meaningful Impact: Build software that powers global dental workflows and transforms patient care
