Pay range: Php 33,000 to Php 44,000

We are looking for a Junior Product Owner to join our team. The Junior Product Owner will support a Digital Capabilities Product Owner in the Multi-level Testing (MLT) Team developing systems (mainly our testing platform, Metrica). You will develop a deep understanding of the Metrica platform functionality and the MLT products it supports, championing the user experience to ensure products align with user needs and develop supporting documentation.

What will you do as a Junior Product Owner?

Reporting to the Digital Capabilities Product Owner, your accountabilities will include:

  • Requirements & User Stories: Create tickets for development, write user stories and acceptance criteria, and communicate these with the development team in regular refinement meetings.
  • Agile Participation: Contribute to daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives as a member of an Agile development team.
  • Documentation: Create and edit a repository of technical documentation and handbooks on how the testing platform works, ensuring it is updated with each release.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to understand customer needs, gather requirements, and bridge the gap between technology and business streams.
  • Defect Management: Handle day-to-day management of product defects and keep the business updated on fix progress.
  • Data & Analytics: Assist with using analytics to understand user behaviour, updating usage statistics and reports.

An ideal candidate has the following qualities:

Essential:

  • Technical Mindset: Ability to understand digital systems and a technical mindset
  • Agile Experience: Knowledge or experience working with teams using Agile development methodologies
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Software Knowledge: Knowledge of data visualisation/BI software such as Power BI, SQL, and Excel
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Awareness: Awareness of product ownership, project management, and planning principles.

Desirable:

  • Experience using software development management tools like Jira
  • High-level technical knowledge of digital assessment products or delivery platforms
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams
  • Knowledge of the English language learning and assessment market.

This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. As part of the selection process, you will complete an English test to assess your ability in the English language, plus a practical task at interview.
