The Inventory Manager is responsible for managing inventory planning, procurement coordination, inventory control, and asset lifecycle management activities supporting BMO and CIBC customer programs. This role ensures the availability of equipment required to meet customer demand while balancing inventory investment, minimizing excess stock, and optimizing operational efficiency.
Working closely with customers, Sales, Procurement, Engineering, DSA teams, Finance, and third-party logistics providers, the role develops inventory forecasts, drives purchasing decisions, manages equipment lifecycle activities, and delivers data-driven recommendations to support business objectives. The position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring customer readiness, and driving continuous process improvements across the supply chain and inventory ecosystem.
Specific Duties And Responsibilities
Inventory Planning & Forecasting
Analyze inventory demand trends and forecast equipment requirements to support customer commitments and operational readiness.
Develop inventory strategies and stock management plans to ensure optimal inventory availability while minimizing excess inventory.
Establish and maintain inventory Min/Max levels and reorder points to support inventory replenishment activities.
Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, Engineering, and DSA teams to develop accurate inventory projections and capacity plans.
Procurement & Supply Management
Lead the development of business cases to justify inventory purchases and support operational requirements.
Initiate and manage purchase order requests to ensure timely acquisition of inventory assets.
Coordinate with suppliers and procurement partners to track orders, manage deliveries, and resolve supply-related issues.
Evaluate supplier quotations and purchasing options to optimize inventory investment and operational costs.
Inventory Control & Asset Lifecycle Management
Monitor inventory levels and inventory movement to maintain inventory accuracy and availability.
Coordinate cycle counts and inventory audits to validate inventory records and ensure data integrity.
Partner with Progistix and internal stakeholders to manage receipt, storage, tracking, deployment, refurbishment, reuse, and decommissioning of equipment assets.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory reporting and controls.
Inventory Optimization & Cost Management
Conduct inventory reviews to identify excess, obsolete, and underutilized inventory.
Recommend inventory disposition strategies to optimize inventory utilization and reduce carrying costs.
Collaborate with Sales teams to determine disposition plans for inventory impacted by evergreen or technology-refresh initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve inventory efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance inventory performance.
Reporting & Process Improvement
Generate inventory reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to support management decision-making.
Analyze inventory performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement.
Provide inventory insights, storage cost analysis, and Min/Max reporting to stakeholders.
Identify gaps within inventory and supply chain processes and implement solutions that improve service delivery, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Educational Qualification/s
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred
Professional certifications in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Procurement, or Logistics.
APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
Professional Qualification/s
3–5 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain operations, logistics, procurement, or related functions.
