The role supports value creation by providing insight, challenge and recommendations on project spend, cost attribution, recharge mechanisms, investment choices and delivery against strategic objectives.
Role accountabilities:
The Net Contribution Tech Business Partner supports and manages financial control of the NC portfolio and acts as a finance partner for Tech stakeholders on transformation, new contribution and business-led technology costs. The role turns financial performance into clear insight, challenge and recommendations that support investment decisions, cost attribution, recharge accuracy, governance and delivery of agreed business priorities.
- Support the NC Tech financial story by ensuring monthly results, forecast updates, project movements and key cost drivers are accurate, timely and clearly linked to transformation and business outcomes.
- Prepare and review the NC global report, Tech financial deck inputs, commentary and supporting analysis, ensuring the message is clear, consistent and evidence based.
- Coordinate NC forecast and budget activities, including gathering assumptions, reviewing material movements, assessing risks and opportunities, tracking project spend and supporting timely submission in line with the corporate timetable.
- Support regular discussions with NC stakeholders, project owners, Industry/sector contacts and Tech Lane leads by translating financial information into practical insight, clarifying movements and recommending follow-up actions.
- Work with NC Tech stakeholders to identify, evaluate and track cost savings, spend optimisation, funding choices and efficiency opportunities while maintaining delivery focus and strategic alignment.
- Review costs allocations, business-led recharge calculations and EF/NC cost classification to ensure costs are attributed accurately, transparently and fairly.
- Support corporate month-end activities by reviewing NC-related Tech postings, accrual requirements and the quality of OneStream submissions, ensuring strong financial control and accountability.
- Coordinate inputs from Tech Controller/Specialists on NC deliverables, helping ensure variance analysis, recharge evidence and project back-up are complete, reliable and delivered to agreed standards.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify NC reporting, strengthen controls, improve data quality and increase automation of finance processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
The candidate should be a qualified accountant or equivalent by experience, with preferably 5+ years of relevant finance experience in a medium or large global organisation. Experience in finance business partnering, FP&A, controlling, project finance, transformation finance, recharge management or technology cost management would be highly relevant.
The candidate should demonstrate strong business partnering capability, with the ability to translate complex project, recharge and transformation financial information into clear insight for non-finance stakeholders, influence decisions, support cost discipline and help the business deliver strategic transformation objectives.
Other required experience and competencies for this role:
- Strong financial analysis, forecasting and reporting capability, with a clear understanding of P&L, balance sheet, accruals, recharges, project spend, investment tracking and key cost drivers.
- Proven ability to partner with senior Tech stakeholders, project owners, industry/sector finance contacts and wider finance teams, challenge constructively, build trust and present risks, choices and recommendations in a clear and practical way.
- Commercial mindset with experience identifying cost savings, spend optimisation, funding options, efficiency opportunities and actions that support transformation delivery and business outcomes.
- Strong understanding of project, transformation or new-cost governance, including EF/NC classification, cost attribution, business-led recharge principles, allocation methodology and spend tracking.
- Strong attention to detail, data quality mindset and ability to maintain high standards across reporting, forecast submissions, allocation calculations, recharge evidence and financial controls.
- Self-starter with excellent time management, prioritisation and ownership, able to work effectively across monthly close, forecast, project reporting, recharge cycles and ad hoc business requests.
- Strong Excel and ERP skills, with Oracle Cloud experience preferred; experience with Power BI, automation, usage-based reporting, allocation models or project dashboards would be an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English and the ability to adapt style for finance, project, Tech and non-finance audiences.
- Ability to guide, coach and support team members or controller/specialists, helping build capability, accountability and confidence across NC reporting, recharge and project finance deliverables.
