Mandarin Oriental, Makati is an upcoming 5-star luxury hotel set within the lush Ayala Triangle Gardens, at the prestigious corner of Paseo de Roxas and Makati Avenue. Scheduled to open in 2026, this landmark development will feature 276 elegantly appointed guestrooms and suites, offering a refined blend of contemporary design and timeless sophistication. About The Role

The Director of Marketing & Communications shapes the hotel’s identity from pre‑opening through stabilization, guiding all brand positioning and demand‑generating communications with clarity, creativity, and a steadfast commitment to Mandarin Oriental’s legendary standards of excellence. With an intuitive sense of storytelling and an eye for refined detail, this leader delivers impactful campaigns that elevate the hotel’s presence within Manila’s luxury landscape while faithfully preserving the integrity and spirit of the brand.

As a key brand guardian and strategic partner, they work in close harmony with Sales, Revenue Management, Food & Beverage, Wellness, and Operations to drive topline performance and support the hotel’s commercial aspirations. Every initiative they lead reflects the Group’s distinctive service ethos—thoughtful, gracious, and evocative of the timeless elegance for which Mandarin Oriental is renowned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre‑Opening Strategy & Launch Management
  • Build and execute the Integrated Pre‑Opening Marketing & Communications Plan, milestone‑driven from T‑12 to T+6 months.
  • Oversee creation of hotel narratives, fact sheets, press kits, brand assets, and all media-facing materials.
  • Lead photo/video production, signature imagery, digital assets, and brand‑compliant collateral.
  • Manage creative, PR, and media agencies, ensuring effective scopes and brand alignment.
  • In partnership with DoCS, orchestrate launch campaigns, events, media previews, and VIP/Fans of M.O. activations.
  • Public Relations & Media Relations
  • Maintain strong relationships with top‑tier local and international media, KOLs, creators, and brand partners.
  • Drive proactive pitching and earned media visibility anchored in Mandarin Oriental’s exceptional service philosophy and brand values.
  • Oversee reputation management, media monitoring, and crisis communication procedures.
  • Digital, Social & CRM Leadership
  • Lead owned digital channels: website, SEO, SEM alignment, content accuracy, and conversion-focused enhancements.
  • Develop and execute the social media strategy, with content pillars that reflect heritage, craftsmanship, wellness, culinary, and local community stories.
  • Strengthen CRM efforts through Fans of M.O. storylines, database growth, and personalized guest journeys.
  • Commercial Collaboration
  • Forge strong alignment with Sales and Revenue teams on campaigns, tactical offers, and demand-generation activities.
  • Support F&B and Spa with marketing plans, brand storytelling, and launch strategies for signature concepts.
  • Build meaningful destination partnerships (tourism boards, retail, airlines, luxury brands).
  • Brand Stewardship & Governance
  • Serve as a strict guardian of Mandarin Oriental’s visual identity, tone of voice, heritage, and storytelling.
  • Ensure all creative output reflects the brand values, especially The Exceptional, Respect, and Responsibility.
  • Train colleagues on brand guidelines and ensure consistency across all guest-facing and corporate-facing materials.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Measurement
  • Own the MarCom budget, phasing, and performance reporting.
  • Implement dashboards and KPIs measuring PR impact, digital effectiveness, engagement, reach, and ROI.
  • Deliver regular post-campaign analyses and optimization plans.

Experience

What We’re Looking For

  • 8–12 years in luxury hospitality marketing or integrated communications.
  • Pre‑opening experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven success in digital, PR, content creation, and brand strategy.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership rooted in Mandarin Oriental’s values—exceptional service, respect, collaboration, and responsibility.
  • Outstanding storytelling, copywriting, and presentation skills.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing systems, analytics, and paid/organic strategies.
  • Ability to inspire teams and cross‑functional stakeholders.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Hospitality, Communications, or related field.
  • Additional certifications in digital or brand strategy advantageous.
