Database Administrator - Oracle SQL Work From Home

Role Overview

Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of database systems in 24/7 environments, optimizing for scalability and high availability. This role designs cloud database architectures, enforces compliance, drives performance tuning, and collaborates with stakeholders to align database strategies with business needs.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth implementation and maintenance of database systems (Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, and Progress DB)
• Provide production support for 24/7 environments
• Monitor and analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and scalability of database systems
• Work closely with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and industry standards
• Document and maintain technical documentation related to the work done
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business needs, and design scalable cloud database architectures
• Develop and implement database management strategies, including data governance and data security measures
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in cloud computing, data management, and database technologies, and recommend improvements to existing systems
• Participate in capacity planning exercises and ensure efficient resource utilization
  
  

• At least 5 years of experience with Oracle Database Administration, specifically Oracle 19c, OEM, and OMS
• At least 5 years of experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL
• At least 5 years of experience with Database Management Operations
• At least 5 years of experience with designing and implementing database architectures
• At least 5 years of experience with Database Security in Oracle and SQL, including TDE, DataGuard, and Golden Gate
• Experienced with Automation and Scripting using Ansible, Shell, or Python
  
  

• Familiarity with Progress OpenEdge Database
• Familiarity with Ansible Automation
• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, including infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Certifications in any of: Oracle, Microsoft, Google, AWS relevant to this position
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols
• Experience in DevOps practices and methodologies
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  
  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields

• Amenable to be assigned on a rotating schedule (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and/or 8:00 PM – 5:00 AM PHT) with possible on-call and weekend support
