Your Impact
You will join a group of communications professionals within the firm’s Reach and Engagement function. These colleagues help ensure that appropriate insights reach designated audiences, building awareness and engagement with McKinsey’s distinctive knowledge on a variety of topics. They shape the way the firm connects with people—from clients to employees to alumni—strengthening institutional relationships, connections, and affiliations.
Through partnership with senior leaders and stakeholders across communications initiatives, you will serve as a leader to your team and will drive the development and execution of best-in-class global communications programs, events, and publications.
You will be a member of McKinsey’s Asia South Office (ASO), working with the Office Managing Partner (OM) and Location Office Managing Partners (LOMs) across 6 geographic locations – Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
You will work closely with the Manager of Convened Events, as well as the broader Southeast Communications team, to help plan, coordinate, and deliver high-quality client-facing and internal events that strengthen McKinsey’s reputation and relationships across the region.
You will support the coordination and execution of events and marketing initiatives that showcase McKinsey’s expertise and strengthen institutional relationships. Working under the guidance of your Manager, you will help manage logistics, communications, and executional details to ensure a seamless participant and stakeholder experience.
You will leverage a range of skills such as writing, attention to detail, and self-motivation to showcase the firm’s knowledge and assets, and protect the firm’s reputation across channels, platforms, and stakeholders.
Core responsibilities include:
Event coordination and logistics
You will support end-to-end event management, from pre-event planning to post-event follow-up, in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
You will coordinate invitation lists, track RSVPs, manage communications with participants, and ensure data accuracy in client relationship systems
You will liaise with venues and suppliers to manage logistics such as catering, audio-visual setup, materials preparation, and onsite registration.
You will support onsite execution, welcoming guests, ensuring event flow, and addressing real-time needs with professionalism.
Communications support
You will assist in developing event communications materials including invitations, emailers, briefing notes, talking points, and event summaries.
You will help draft concise and engaging event-related copies for internal and external channels (e.g., newsletters, intranet, social media).
You will coordinate the dissemination of event collateral and track engagement metrics where applicable.
You will ensure all materials align with McKinsey’s brand voice, tone, and design guidelines.
Project management and reporting
You will maintain accurate project trackers, budgets, and timelines in partnership with your manager.
You will support post-event reporting and feedback processes, consolidating insights to inform future events.
You will help maintain contact databases, mailing lists, and performance dashboards.
You will contribute to internal knowledge sharing by documenting best practices and learnings.
Your Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s/University degree required with 1-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or events coordination in Southeast Asia, professional services or agency environment preferred.
- Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint), Firm-related tools (Slack), and Canva
- Ability to work independently and entrepreneurially and see projects through from end-to-end
- Comfortable with the agile work methodology, and ability to work in quick, iterative rounds when applicable
- Ability to influence and direct colleagues, and manage needs of different stakeholders (including relevant senior leaders)
- Ability to solve problems and recommend effective solutions, leveraging data and insights to inform decision-making
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Able to distill complex ideas into compelling narratives across different formats
- Able to collaborate well in teams and receive and provide feedback and demonstrate core firm values in attitude and work (e.g., owning development, driving work, demonstrating resilience)
- Proficiency and fluency in verbal and written English are required, native Southeast Asian languages a plus
