I. BACKGROUND
Clean Air Asia is an international non-governmental organization leading the regional mission for better air quality, and healthier, more livable cities throughout Asia. Our mission is to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions in Asia and contribute to the development of a more sustainable, equitable and healthier region. We empower governments and cities by inspiring action and focusing efforts on the planning and implementation of solutions at scale, fostering regional cooperation to address issues of mutual concern, and ensuring the integration of air quality management across sectors and institutions. Our work focuses on implementing solutions that reduce air pollution, and its detrimental health impacts and mitigate the climate crisis. We do so by providing policy guidance, building capacity, and making a compelling case for action among stakeholders at city, national, and regional levels. Since 2008, we have been a United Nations-recognized partnership comprised of more than 250 organizations in Asia and internationally, with six Country Networks (Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam). Our headquarters are in Manila, Philippines, and we have offices in Beijing, China, New Delhi, India, and Jakarta, Indonesia.
Clean Air Asia has been accepting interns from all over the world since 2007 to provide students (undergraduate/graduate) with the opportunity to improve their skills and experience working in a diverse environment. Previous interns appreciated the improved understanding on air quality and related topics, gained practical skills in knowledge management and project management, established friendships and contacts that could help in their future career plans. Previous interns include students or young professionals from Asia - China, Philippines, Singapore and Sri Lanka/ and outside Asia – France, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden and United States.
The e-mobility ASAP Project
The “Accelerating the Adoption and Scale Up of Electric Mobility for Low-Carbon City Development in the Philippines” or “e-mobility ASAP Project”, implemented in partnership with
the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Board of Investments (BOI), and UNIDO, supports the development of the Philippine electric vehicle (EV) industry. The project delivers policy support, technical assistance, and stakeholder capacity-building to promote local EV manufacturing, investment, and adoption.
The e-mobility ASAP Project implements capacity-building and knowledge development initiatives to support the transition to sustainable transport in the Philippines. A key cross-cutting priority of the Project is women’s engagement and inclusion in the e-mobility and transport sectors, alongside skills development for government, industry, academia, and civil society stakeholders. To support the planning, coordination, and documentation of these initiatives, the Project seeks an intern who will assist in capacity-building activities and women-focused engagement efforts.
