The Business and Data Systems Officer is responsible for developing systems, improving processes and sourcing data to support Finance Business Partners, Centers of Excellence and related business units to effectively fulfill their roles in decision making and in achieving their business objectives.
Duties And Responsibilities
Assess the feasibility of proposed projects in terms of the available platforms, technologies and resources
Identify project MVPs (Minimum Viable Product) or project phase scope, manage or delegate regular cadence to ensure that projects are delivered within schedule
Secure project related resources to aid in the system development. These include Business Requirement Documents, User Stories, User Acceptance Testing, Sample data, flowcharts, mock-ups, prototypes etc
Lead the development and design of the system projects. Delegate roles and define tasks to project members
Establish and enforce access roles to secure data and systems from unauthorized access. Manage or delegate user access definition to authorized system users
Source and manage existing data to provide to Finance Business Partners and Centers of Excellence in support of their analyses, decision making and strategy formulation functions
Identify business data requirements; Coordinate requirements with the system owners, secure approvals and establish access to data
Source and consolidate raw data from various systems. Develop systems to process and transform data into standard file formats
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any IT-related course
At least 2 years of work experience in programming, design and management of applications, database management, and system maintenance
Knowledgeable in the programming languages (SQL, Python, VBScript, HTML, VBA, Foxpro, Automation Anywhere, PowerApps, Power Query)
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical reasoning skills
Proven track record in database and project management
Familiarity with management reporting and procedures
