The Visual Merchandising Manager National Standards will lead the Visual Merchandising unit for MR. DIY Philippines, owning the end-to-end standardization, rollout, and governance of visual merchandising across all stores nationwide. This managerial role will sit within the Visual Merchandising team and will be assigned to lead initiatives for Luzon, Visayas, or Mindanao while partnering with RTM Heads to ensure consistent brand presentation and measurable commercial impact.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain national visual merchandising standards covering store layout, fixture placement, signage, POS displays, window treatments, seasonal and promotional guidelines, and planogram templates.
Create implementation playbooks and toolkits (visual guides, annotated planograms, fixture specs, signage templates, installation checklists) for use by regional teams and store operators.
Lead regional rollout and adoption by coordinating with area Visual Merchandising Supervisors/Officers, store operations, and local stakeholders to schedule installations, audits, and resets.
Design and approve display concepts and planograms for permanent and campaign merchandising, ensuring alignment with brand, operations, and commercial objectives.
Standardize fixture and signage selection by specifying approved vendors, materials, dimensions, and modular systems that balance cost, durability, and brand fidelity.
Establish training and accreditation programs including train-the-trainer modules, certification criteria for in-store teams, and ongoing refresher sessions.
Implement governance and quality assurance through regular store audits, scorecards, corrective action plans, and an escalation framework reporting to RTM Heads.
Drive continuous improvement by capturing field feedback, testing new concepts in pilot stores, refining standards, and scaling successful initiatives.
Partner with commercial teams to analyze promotional calendars and ensure merchandising strategy supports SKU prioritization and sales targets.
Measure and report performance using agreed KPIs, preparing executive reports, dashboards, and recommendations for RTM Heads.
Manage the Visual Merchandising team including hiring, coaching, capacity planning, workload allocation, and performance management.
Accomplish other tasks as assigned by RTM Heads related to merchandising, store experience, or retail execution.
Managerial & Governance Duties
Leadership: Provide clear direction, mentor regional supervisors, and maintain cross-functional alignment with Operations, Store Planning, Marketing, and Procurement.
Budget & Vendor Management: Own merchandising budgets for fixtures and signage, negotiate with suppliers, manage procurement timelines, and enforce quality SLAs.
Rollout Governance: Define roll-out timelines, resource requirements, and risk mitigation for national projects and seasonal campaigns.
Performance Management: Set team OKRs/KPIs, conduct quarterly reviews, and enforce accountability for store compliance.
Change Management: Lead stakeholder communications, operational readiness, and hypercare during major resets or format changes.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Spatial Design, Interior Design, Retail Management, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 4+ years in visual merchandising with at least 12 years in a managerial or team-lead capacity in retail.
Technical: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and strong competency in MS Office and basic planogram tools.
Analytical: Ability to analyze sales and merchandising reports to link visual changes to commercial outcomes.
Design & Execution: High creative aptitude with strong spatial awareness, attention to detail, and confidence pitching concepts to senior stakeholders.
Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects, vendors, budgets, and timelines in a fast-paced retail environment.
Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, experience running training programs, and capability to influence cross-functional teams.
Mobility & Location: Willingness to travel frequently to assigned region (Luzon, Visayas, or Mindanao) and report to the Marikina Head Office for on-site collaboration.
Additional Requirements
Work Arrangement: 100% on-site at Marikina Head Office when not on field assignment.
Fieldwork: Amenable to frequent store visits, regional travel, and occasional overnight stays.
Other: Ability to handle ad-hoc tasks assigned by RTM Heads and adapt standards to local constraints while maintaining brand integrity.
