What You'll Do

  • Maintain the security, reliability, and availability of Aussie Broadband’s critical systems infrastructure.
  • Design and evolve platform architecture to deliver scalable, observable and secure solutions for internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across a broad range of experience and skills to deliver business outcomes.
  • Deliver highly available, scalable and resilient platforms and services to support business growth and initiatives.
  • Build, automate and enhance on-premises containerised & virtualised workloads, with a strong focus on infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support development teams by providing platform capabilities, tooling and environments that accelerate delivery.
  • Champion reliability practices, including monitoring, alerting, incident response and post-incident reviews.
  • Continuously improve platform performance, cost-efficiency and developer experience through proactive engineering and feedback loops.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, standards and knowledge sharing across the engineering organisation.
  • Act as an escalation point and provide technical guidance and support to other members of the systems team, helping resolve complex issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and help develop junior team members through coaching, knowledge sharing, and technical training.

  • Take ownership of delivering assigned projects and business outcomes end-to-end, applying established architectural and design patterns with minimal oversight.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure platform reliability and rapid response to critical incidents.


Key Criteria

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Expert Linux system administration with proven experience operating highly available, distributed production systems in a Telco environment.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes expertise (on-prem/upstream), including cluster lifecycle management, performance tuning, service mesh (Istio, Linkerd), and multi-cluster architectures.
  • Advanced Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, Helm) and GitOps CI/CD tooling (ArgoCD, Flux) for continuous delivery at scale.
  • Deep knowledge of containerized and virtualized networking concepts (BGP, Load Balancing, Ingress/Egress, eBPF/XDP, VPP).
  • Security-first design mindset (encryption, segmentation, compliance) alongside full observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger).
  • Proficiency in Go or Python for scripting, with a strong passion for CNCF/OCI open-source standards and continuous improvement.


Work setup:

  • Manila (BGC, Taguig): Australian hours (6:00am–3:00pm PHT) with a flexible work arrangement.
