Job Description

The Legal Officer will be assigned at the Non-Credit, Criminal, and Cybercrime department of the bank.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Effective and efficient prosecution or defense of cases involving the BPI Group.
  • Evaluate and monitor, on an ongoing basis, all cases handled by him/her.
  • Attend hearings, draft, prepare and sign pleadings and ensure that only up-to-date laws and jurisprudence are cited in the prosecution or defense of cases.
  • Prepare the executive summary for all cases assigned to him/her, regularly update the cases in the Division’s database, and perform all administrative requirements required from a litigation lawyer.
  • Reporting to the Department Head and/or Division Head on the progress of cases handled by the litigation lawyer on a regular basis.
  • Such other activities as may be required to be performed by the Department Head or Division Head.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from a reputable law school
  • At least 2 years of litigation experience
  • Good understanding of banking operations
  • In-depth knowledge of the current banking laws, rules and procedure
  • Proficient in judicial and administrative procedures
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Assertive; tactful; a team player
