Senior GL Accountant

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior GL Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for candidates with a Big Four background (minimum 4 years) who possess a deep understanding of end-to-end accounting and how each transaction impacts the overall financial picture. The position requires hands-on experience with complex reconciliations, e-commerce platform accounting (Shopify and Amazon Seller Central), and advanced Excel skills. Candidates must be prepared to complete live GAAP and advanced Excel assessments as part of the selection process.

·         Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger across multiple systems and sales channels.

·         Lead and execute full-cycle month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account analyses.

·         Perform detailed account reconciliations for AP, AR, inventory, and other balance sheet accounts.

·         Reconcile Shopify and Amazon Seller Central activity, including sales, refunds, discounts, taxes, fees, payouts, and cash settlements.

·         Reconcile transactions and balances within NetSuite to ensure system integrity and accuracy.

·         Identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and resolve issues in a timely manner.

·         Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

·         Collaborate with operations, e-commerce, and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

·         Support ad hoc accounting needs, including AP, AR, and inventory-related functions as required.

·         Continuously improve accounting processes and internal controls.

·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

·         Minimum 4 years of Big Four accounting firm experience (required).

·         Strong background in corporate accounting with full-cycle month-end close ownership.

·         Hands-on experience with NetSuite (required).

·         Proven experience with inventory accounting.

·         Hands-on Shopify reconciliation experience.

·         Hands-on Amazon Seller Central reconciliation experience.

·         Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS principles, including revenue recognition.

·         Advanced Excel skills (assessed live).

·         High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.

·         Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

·         Ability to pass a live GAAP assessment.

·         SaaS or platform accounting experience (Apple, Stripe, Google, or similar).

·         Experience working with U.S.-based or multinational companies.

·         Background in e-commerce, SaaS, or consumer products industries.
