Position Title: Head, Commercial Banking Center - Binondo

Job Summary:

Plans, implements and supervises the overall marketing strategies and activities with the end in view of:

  • Attaining the Center’s profitability targets
  • Exercising control over the Centers activities in order to minimize risks (risk management)
  • Maintaining the quality of the portfolio, and
  • Ensuring good account servicing/clients satisfaction (relationship management)

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the overall quality and profitability of the loan portfolio as well as other collateral business in achieving the volume and income targets of the Center.
  • Establishes long-term objectives and formulates business strategies and marketing plans.
  • Administers, plans and controls the Center.
  • Presents loan and credit approval memoranda to the regular Executive Committee (Excom and/or Senior Excom as the case maybe together with the Center Head and/or Account Officers).
  • Provides Account Officers with volume and income targets and business development objectives.
  • Conducts regular client calls and plant visits, jointly with Account Officers, to establish and maintain good working relationship with the account as well as to obtain first hand information of any development in the account.
  • Reviews all credit and loan proposals or memoranda to ensure proper packaging and risk assessment, order of presentation and context.
  • Ensures compliance of all documentation requirements relative to loan/credit approval.
  • Approves commercial credit and trade credit transactions within the prescribe level of authority granted.
  • Ensures that the Bank’s policies and procedures are strictly adhered to in all respect, let alone deviations in the credit transaction duly approved by the proper body.
  • Represents the Bank in syndicate meetings, creditors’ meeting, steering committee meetings and the like.
  • Provides technical support and advice to Account Officers as part of their hands on training during discussions or negotiation with existing and or prospective clients.
  • Prepares annual financial budget of the Center.
  • Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years leadership experience as a leader in commercial banking
  • Financial expertise: strong understanding of FS analysis, forecasting techniques, ROI evaluation to support decision making
  • Regulatory and Compliance Acumen: in-depth knowledge of banking regulations
  • Market and Investment insights: Proficient in analyzing market trends and economic indicators
  • Portfolio & Credit Risk Management: skilled in assessing the credit worthiness and managing diverse clients
  • Strategic Business Development: Expertise in identifying growth opportunities, client acquisition, negotiation and expending wallet share 
  • Aggressive business mindset & relationship building: Demonstrates a proactive and results driven approach
  • Clear and persuasive communicator: articulates complex ideas with clarity and influence
  • Data-driven decision making: Leverage data to guide strategic choices and optimize team performance
  • Customer Centric Leadership and Stakeholder management: Champions the client-first culture and proactive service
  • Emotional Intelligence & Team empowerment: fostering a supportive environment that motivates team and encourages continues growth
  • Adaptability & Resilience: Navigates change with agility and maintains focus on long term goals.
  • Can speak and understand Chinese language (Fukien/Hookien)
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree from a college/university, preferably a graduate of a Marketing or Business course.
