Job Role: Graphic Design & Social Media Marketing 

Compensation range: $1,800 AUD - $2,500 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who The Client Is: The company is an Australian telecommunications and technology distribution business with:

• Multiple sales channels (Solutions, Distribution, Marine subsidiary)
• Significant inventory holdings
• Commission-based sales structure
• Active cash flow and margin management focus
• Regular bank and board reporting requirements

Role Overview: The Graphic Design, social media and paid advertising position collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute creative marketing initiatives that support the companys sales, branding and business objectives. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this role is responsible for producing high-quality visual content, managing social media channels, and delivering effective paid advertising campaigns across digital platforms. The position combines creative design, content creation and performance marketing to strengthen brand awareness, generate customer engagement and drive business growth 

Key Responsibilities: 

Primary Outcome 1: Produce high-quality, on-brand visual assets that effectively communicate Powertecs and Outback Marine’s (OMA) products, services, and promotions across print and digital channels while supporting sales, marketing, and brand consistency 

• Design brochures, catalogues, flyers, product data sheets, case studies, capability statements, and other printed marketing collateral .
• Create product packaging, retail packaging artwork, labels, and point-of-sale material for the company, OMA and house brands. 
• Produce digital marketing assets including website banners, landing page graphics, promotional graphics, and online advertisements. .
• Design email campaign graphics, email newsletters, email signature banners, and promotional assets for EDM platforms such as Klaviyo. 
• Create business cards, presentation templates, exhibition graphics, signage, pull-up banners, and other .
• Maintain Powertecs and OMA’s visual identity by ensuring all artwork follows established brand guidelines, typography, colours, and design standards. 

Primary Outcome 2: Develop engaging, informative, and visually appealing social media content that increases brand awareness, promotes products and solutions, and grows audience engagement across media platforms. 

• Plan, create and schedule engaging content for Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. 
• Design social media graphics, carousels, promotional posts, product highlights and campaign creatives. 
• Write compelling captions, hashtags and calls-to-action tailored to each social platform. 
• Create content supporting new product launches, promotions, company news, events, case studies and industry education 
• Coordinate with the marketing and product teams to ensure accurate and timely communication of new products and campaigns. 
• Monitor social media engagement, respond to basic customer interactions where appropriate, and recommend content improvements based on performance 

Primary Outcome 3: Plan, execute and optimise paid digital advertising campaigns that generate qualified leads, increase website traffic, promote products, and maximize return on advertising investment. 

• Plan, build and manage paid advertising campaigns across Meta (Facebook and Instagram), LinkedIn and Google Ads. 
• Develop campaign strategies including audience targeting, budgeting, bidding strategies and campaign objectives. 
• Create and manage ad copy, creative assets and landing page recommendations to improve campaign performance. 
• Monitor campaign performance daily and optimise targeting, budgets, keywords, audiences and creatives to maximise ROI. 
• Analyse campaign data using Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager and other reporting tools, providing regular performance reports and recommendations. 
• Stay current with digital advertising trends, platform updates and best practices to continuously improve campaign effectiveness and lead generation. 

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in graphic design, digital marketing or social media marketing. 
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. 
• Experience creating engaging social media content for Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, including graphics, copywriting and campaign planning. 
• Practical experience managing Meta and Google Ads campaigns, including audience targeting, budget management and optimisation 
• Strong portfolio demonstrating graphic design, digital marketing and social media content. 
• Experience using AI-powered content creation tools such as ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly, Copilot, Gemini or Claude to support content and marketing activities. 
• Strong understanding of branding, typography, colour theory and visual communication, with the ability to maintain brand consistency. 
• Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
