FSQA Specialist

As a FSQA Specialist, you will take on a key responsibility in ensuring that a companys food products meet established standards of safety and quality. You will complete tasks related to food inspection, testing, and regulatory compliance, and play a crucial role in protecting consumers and maintaining the companys reputation. Your role needs a good understanding of food safety regulations and quality standards, good organizational skills, and good problem-solving abilities. You should also have good communication skills, as you often need to coordinate with various stakeholders, from production staff to suppliers to regulatory authorities, contributing to our ongoing efforts to drive business success and enhance customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do

Supplier & Product Compliance

• Conduct supplier and product onboarding to ensure compliance with company food safety and quality requirements.
  
• Develop and maintain quality specifications and collaborate with suppliers to implement best practices.
  
• Analyze customer complaint trends and work with suppliers to drive corrective action and continuous improvement.

Regulatory & Labeling Compliance

• Collaborate with the Regulatory team to verify ingredient lists, allergen statements, and nutritional information for weekly menus.
  
• Ensure supplier information is accurate and up to date within company systems.
  Verify ingredient information uploaded to websites, ensuring consistency and accuracy for customers.
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with internal teams, including procurement, culinary development, and distribution, to ensure food safety and quality objectives are met.
  
• Communicate effectively with suppliers, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders to address compliance and quality concerns.
  
• Other duties as assigned.
  

What you’ll bring

• Bachelors degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of food safety systems, HACCP principles, and quality assurance standards.
• Experience in food labeling legislation, preferably with Canadian regulatory requirements.
• High level of analytical skills with experience in data analysis and trend identification.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and adapt to shifting business needs.
• Experience in supplier management and product quality assurance.
