Data Migration Lead

As a Data Migration Lead, you will provide leadership and subject matter expertise during the post-migration, hypercare, and project closure phases of a core banking data migration programme. You will help ensure the stability, integrity, completeness, and traceability of migrated data, support the resolution of outstanding migration-related issues, and facilitate audit readiness and formal project closure within a regulated banking environment. 

What You'll Do and How You'll Succeed

Key Responsibilities

• Co-lead post-data migration hypercare activities for the Core Banking Migration and help ensure a smooth transition into project closure. 
• Drive the investigation and resolution of data quality, completeness, reconciliation, mapping, transformation, and integrity issues to maintain confidence in migrated data. 
• Partner with Application Support, Enterprise Data and Analytics Services, Business/Data SMEs, and the Core Banking Partner/Vendor to identify root causes and implement appropriate remediation measures. 
• Ensure discrepancies are thoroughly investigated, remediated, and validated by the appropriate Business/Data SMEs. 
• Monitor and drive outstanding data migration-related issues through to resolution and closure. 
• Serve as the primary Data Migration SME for internal and external audit activities. 
• Coordinate responses to audit requests related to the data migration stream and ensure timely stakeholder engagement. 
• Provide supporting documentation, evidence, reports, reconciliation results, approvals, testing evidence, issue logs, and governance records to meet audit and compliance requirements. 
• Support Project Management in addressing audit observations and recommendations. 
• Maintain comprehensive Data Migration Stream documentation to support governance, traceability, and project closure. 
• Deliver accurate reporting on outstanding migration issues to Steering Committees, senior management, and executive governance forums as required. 

We'd Love to Hear From You If...

Experience

• 10+ years of relevant experience, including significant experience leading complex data migration initiatives. 
• Experience leading data migration initiatives, preferably within banking or financial services. 
• Experience in post-migration support/hypercare, data reconciliation and validation, and migration issue resolution. 
• Experience supporting internal and external audits. 
• Experience managing senior stakeholders across IT, Business Operations, and Finance. 
• Experience with core banking or banking platform migrations is preferred. 

Technical Expertise

• Strong understanding of data migration methodologies, including source-to-target mapping, ETL, data quality, and reconciliation. 
• Knowledge of customer, loans, deposits, checks, and general ledger data. 
• Knowledge of reconciliation and validation processes. 
• Understanding of data quality frameworks and remediation practices. 
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, Business, Finance, or a related discipline. 

Ways of Working

• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional technology, business, and vendor teams. 
• Understanding of the importance of evidence, approvals, traceability, control ownership, and documentation within a regulated financial services environment.
