Scope of Work Performed
The Vulnerability Management Team carried out the following key activities as part of the ongoing initiative to maintain a secure, resilient, and well-governed IT environment for the client. These activities were executed in alignment with industry best practices for vulnerability lifecycle management, asset integrity assurance, and enterprise risk governance.
Vulnerability Scan Planning & Change Control
Raised and tracked monthly Change Requests for scheduled Qualys vulnerability scans across Workstations, Servers and Infra.
Ensured all scan activities received the necessary managerial approvals prior to execution.
Issued advance scan notifications to team to promote awareness and minimize business disruption.
Asset Discovery & Inventory Reconciliation
Conducted continuous asset discovery through multiple data sources including:
BitSight External IP Reports for external exposure identification.
Candor, SCCM, Tanium, and CrowdStrike Workstation Reports for inventory validation.
DHCP Subnet Reports across regions to detect newly assigned internal IPs.
Reconciled against Qualys and internal repositories to ensure newly discovered assets were included in vulnerability assessments.
Identified and addressed missing Qualys agent deployments and scan omissions.
Vulnerability Coverage Assurance
Investigated and remediated gaps in vulnerability scan coverage, including:
Duplicate Qualys Host IDs.
Missing Qualys agent installations on workstations.
Firewall-related scan failures (e.g., Korea & Japan IP ranges and CVD IP ranges from various regions).
Reported and escalated persistent coverage issues (e.g., SCCM deployment failures, IP conflicts) to relevant operational and Security stakeholders.
Qualys Configuration & Governance
Maintained Qualys Asset Tags and ensured consistent classification of operating systems and network devices.
Backed up key Qualys objects to support restoration or redeployment when necessary.
Managed asset group updates to reflect inclusion of previously unscanned or newly discovered hosts.
Risk Acceptance & Exclusion Governance
Collaborated with stakeholders to validate scan exclusion requests.
Facilitated Risk Acceptance Form completion and ensure they obtained necessary approvals from Business Units and Upper management and Risk & Controls teams.
Ensured all exclusions were properly documented and traceable.
Regional Issue Management
Reviewed regional vulnerability scan reports and identified missing scan coverage.
Worked with Security & Governance teams to investigate scanning failures due to network or firewall limitations.
Escalated CVD-specific deployment and IP allocation issues to ISO management for resolution.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
Maintained centralized visibility by updating SharePoint portals used by the Security Engineering Team.
Escalated critical gaps (e.g., massive missing Qualys agent reports) to both operational teams and Team Members during weekly meetings.
Provided continuous feedback loops to maintain accurate records in the Network Master Repository and other supporting platforms
Job Qualifications:
Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience in Vulnerability Management, with supervisory experience
Must be amenable with possible shifting schedule at Cubao, with a hybrid work set-up.
