Your Role in Focus
Be part of our clients team as a
Underwriting Team Lead, where you will guide and mentor a team handling inbound consumer calls, document verification, and underwriting reviews. You will ensure compliance, drive team performance, optimize workflows, and collaborate cross-functionally to maintain accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional service..

What You Bring to the Table
Required
- High school diploma or GED (associate or bachelors degree preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in consumer underwriting, risk management, or financial services
- 1+ years of leadership experience (team lead, supervisor, or trainer role)
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, especially in customer-facing contexts
- Proficient in using underwriting systems, CRMs, and workflow management tools
- Ability to coach, motivate, and lead a team in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Prior experience in a consumer-facing underwriting or verification contact center
- Familiarity with credit, document verification, or fraud detection systems
- Knowledge of compliance and data privacy standards (e.g., FCRA, GLBA)

Your Daily Impact
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of consumer underwriters handling inbound consumer calls, document verification, and underwriting reviews
- Monitor team performance and productivity through regular coaching, performance evaluations, and quality audits
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for complex or sensitive consumer interactions and underwriting cases
- Ensure all underwriting decisions and communications comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Oversee workflow management, including queue monitoring, prioritization, and workload balancing to meet SLAs
- Partner with management to implement training programs, process improvements, and performance metrics
- Analyze team and operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Risk, Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Product to address issues or enhance workflows
- Support hiring, onboarding, and continued skill development of team members
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of underwriting guidelines, risk practices, and industry developments
