JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the review of Liebert North America sales orders to ensure proper sales tax is invoiced and to ensure compliance with state and local sales tax laws. Assist in coaching other sales tax team members and in collaborating to reach an agreement before contacting the Vertiv tax department in Columbus, Ohio.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Functional Expertise

  • Review daily electronic sales orders to verify sales tax compliance and release off tax hold.
  • Collect appropriate documentation for non-taxable orders before invoicing to reduce the flow of After Invoice Adjustments.
  • Perform analysis and configuration of sales tax on taxable orders.
  • Primarily responsible for all orders.
  • Maintain the Customer Exemption electronic data base.
  • Reviews the daily tax hold list report to ensure orders are released on time for shipment.
  • Research sales tax laws to ensure proper compliance and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate support files for sales.
  • Review/Originate of After Invoice Adjustments.
  • Assist in special projects as they arise for credits from state returns for additional sales taxes paid in error on orders.
  • Assist customers in determining taxable and non-taxable items on purchase orders per each state’s laws.
  • Providing tax computations for proposal/quotes to Sales Representatives.
  • Process assigned Smartsheet CPQ certificate filling.
  • Generating tax reports and updating customer taxability status.

Customer Commitment

  • Identifies customer needs through communication and probing.
  • Creates solutions to customer problems. Provide sound recommendations to their queries. Provides resolution the first time.
  • Assists customers in handling, servicing, follow-up, communication and closure of issues.
  • Completes workload on time. Monitors if transactions are processed in a timely manner.
  • Implements error-proofing method to ensure all transactions done are accurately.
  • Participates in conferences calls, meetings and discussions with customers.
  • Adheres to shift schedules and attendance expectations to ensure consistent support to customers and a balanced workload for peers.
  • Coordinates with other teams/support to complete the request of customers.
  • Maintain a balance between corporate policy/procedures and the customers needs. This includes providing an exceptional level of customer service to all internal customers (i.e. sales and credit team).
  • Substantial customer and representative contact to verify order status and secure correct documentation.
  • Perform self-check on orders released from tax hold to ensure it is error-free prior to invoicing.

Internal Communication

  • Records and submits periodic and/or quarterly transaction records, log sheets and/or trackers.
  • Plans, executes and manages own workload and projects in cooperation with line leaders.
  • Participates in team meetings. Huddles and information cascades.
  • Process assigned Smartsheet Mailbox tickets.
  • Assists the accounts receivable department with sales tax issues as needed.
  • Respond to tax hold inquiries from sales representatives and order entry management team.
  • Assists in any reporting activity or duly assigned task by immediate supervisor as needed, or in fulfillment of and in relation to essential functions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identifies problems areas and sources, offers possible solutions and escalates to line leaders/seniors when necessary.
  • Completes personal individual development plan and implements agreed training/development activities.
  • Completes performance report for personal development.

Team Support and Development

  • Actively participates in team activities and initiatives.
  • Fulfil other reasonable duties and projects as required.
  • Serves as back-up for next level similar or related function for business continuity.
  • Assists in planning, organizing and coordinating team activities to ensure employee engagement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree of any 4-year course preferably with Customer Service or Sales experience in a technical and/or manufacturing environment
  • New graduates welcome

  • Basic accounting skills
  • Preferably exposed to ERP environment.
