What You Will Be Doing
The RTR Specialist is a subject matter expert (SME) responsible for providing advanced technical expertise in specific Record-to-Report processes. This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of accounting outputs through expert review, issue resolution, and process standardization.
The Specialist plays a critical role in reviewing journal entries and complex transactions prepared by Analysts, resolving technical accounting issues, and supporting process improvements. While the role does not involve direct people management, the Specialist acts as a technical authority and coach, supporting Analysts and Team Leaders with expert guidance.
Key Responsibilities
Perform expert-level review of journal entries, reconciliations, and reports prepared by Analysts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and company policies.
Act as the subject matter expert for assigned RTR processes (e.g., GL, Intercompany, Fixed Assets, Close & Reporting), resolving complex accounting and process issues.
Provide technical guidance and coaching to Analysts and Senior Analysts, including clarifying accounting treatments, resolving issues, and reinforcing standards.
Identify process gaps, risks, and inefficiencies; recommend and support implementation of process improvements and standardization initiatives.
Support month-end and year-end close activities by handling complex entries, adjustments, and critical reconciliations.
Ensure strong internal control compliance within assigned processes; proactively flag control issues and support remediation actions in coordination with the Team Leader or Supervisor.
Support internal and external audits by preparing explanations, documentation, and responding to audit queries related to assigned processes.
Participate in system enhancements, migrations, testing, and special projects requiring deep process or accounting expertise.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Certified Public Accountant is a must.
At least 6-8 years of relevant Record-to-Report or General Accounting experience.
Strong expertise in one or more RTR sub-processes.
Proven experience reviewing journal entries and complex reconciliations.
Hands-on exposure to month-end and year-end close processes.
Experience in a Shared Service Center or BPO environment is an advantage. Logistics or shipping industry experience is a plus.
