Job Description

As a Production Graphics Engineer, you will create and refine production-ready packaging and instructional graphics that meet brand, regulatory, and print standards. Youll collaborate closely with engineering, packaging, and print partners to deliver accurate, cost-efficient, and high-quality design solutions that enhance customer experience across global markets.

Education

• Bachelors degree in Graphic Design or a related field
  
  

Experience

• At least 3+ years of experience in graphics design related to production art files for printing on various packaging materials
  
  

Technical Requirements

• Experience using a Mac platform
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator Pro, InDesign, and Photoshop
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Your Daily Tasks

• Design product packaging production art files that align with brand, regulatory, and packaging guidelines, ensuring print-ready files while resolving production issues with vendors and minimizing space usage and printing costs.
• Create graphics files including labeling, primary packaging, inserts, and instruction documents across various packaging levels, as assigned.
• Create production art files using Adobe Illustrator Pro, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop, producing AI, INDD, and PDF files at a minimum.
• Understand and assist in developing design and layout protocols, including the ability to design booklet and fold-up (map-style) inserts for proper printing and final size fit.
• Create 2D and 3D renderings when required (a plus).
• Execute the design and creation of new primary, secondary, tertiary, and display-level packaging graphics for retail and clinical businesses, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines, regulatory requirements, and printer specifications.
• Communicate with team members, graphics resources, and internal stakeholders to explain, advance, and execute strategic plans.
• Perform value analysis to satisfy project requirements.
• Demonstrate a high level of initiative, strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills, sound organizational habits, and a results-driven mindset.
• Apply retail packaging experience where applicable (beneficial).
• Manage multiple projects and timelines to ensure on-time delivery.
• Identify required adjustments without disrupting project timelines.
• Work cross-functionally with all stakeholders involved in assigned projects.
• Cross-train with Packaging and Product Engineering teams to support broader project management beyond packaging scope.
• Resolve graphics and definition discrepancies between internal stakeholders and external suppliers or manufacturers.
• Handle written and verbal correspondence with external providers and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare miscellaneous reports, analysis, and project documentation as needed.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Meet project timelines within the GP&EMO team by managing the production art queue (60%).
• Respond to internal team requests within one (1) business day regarding where new projects fall within the production art queue (15%).
• Attend and actively contribute to 100% of scheduled creative and campaign syncs within the team (10%).
• Create production art files that minimize printing costs, reduce space requirements, and fit allocated space while meeting regulatory and packaging limitations (15%).
