Your impact
As part of our Global Delivery Center (GDC), you’ll be at the heart of delivering high-impact energy and power projects across the globe. We’re seeking a Power Systems Modeller/Engineer to power system studies project such as network modelling, steady state and dynamic studies. This role provides the opportunity to work alongside design team members in the United States to produce detailed design documents and perform construction phase engineering services.
Responsibilities Include
- Assist in building core technical competence in power system studies for conventional and renewable generation, grid connection, transmission, and industrial network studies.
- Support wider team on execution of assigned tasks and provide solutions to achieve the project goals efficiently
- Support strong service delivery to all clients
- Work with client and project managers to understand client requirements for key projects
- Strengthening of client relationships through excellent in project delivery and technical performance
- Continuous commitment to Learning & Development.
- Supporting projects through delivery, HSEC, quality and client service
- Working in conjunction with DPE’s and PMs to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget
- Working with the GID counterpart to deliver the expected performance on the project
- Understanding the commercial aspects of projects
Heres what youll need
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 2-6 years experience working in EPC/engineering/consulting organisation with a strong focus on power system modelling, simulations and problem solving.
- Experience in power generation technologies, Combined Cycle Gas Turbine, Simple Cycle Gas Turbines, Solar, Wind and Battery storage (renewables) relevant to the market.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting studies in
- Power system steady state and dynamic analysis (comprising of power flows, short circuit, protection coordination, unit protection, motor starting, arc flash, power quality, power system stability studies)
- Electromagnetic Transient Analysis (Insulation Coordination, Equipment Failure analysis)
- Grid Connection Studies
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
- Hands on experience in operating power system software’s like Power Factory, ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD, CYME, SKM. Experience of Python programming is preferred.
- Presenting well to clients (internal and external) and networking skills
- Capacity to work within teams to solve technical problems and achieve a high level of assurance on project deliverables.
