Job Description

As an Outbound Verification Specialist, you will conduct reference and verification calls, validate housing and employment records, manage documentation, and ensure compliance accuracy-playing a critical role in delivering reliable background check outcomes for enterprise real estate clients.

Employment type: Full-time

Shift: Night shift | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CT (5 days a week; may include a weekend day), Consecutive off

Your Daily Tasks

Outbound Verification & Calls

  • Make outbound reference calls for background checks
  • Verify current and former lease arrangements
  • Verify current and former employment information
  • Obtain additional information from clients and applicants
  • Contact landlords, property managers, HR departments, and supervisors
  • Follow up on unanswered calls via voicemail or email
  • Escalate unresponsive or incomplete verifications according to process guidelines

Data Collection & Documentation

  • Accurately enter verified information into internal systems or client platforms
  • Upload, organize, and label supporting documents (emails, forms, call notes)
  • Collect, review, and cross-check documents against provided records and databases

Quality, Accuracy & Compliance

  • Demonstrate high attention to detail and maximum accuracy
  • Review entries for accuracy prior to submission or closure
  • Flag discrepancies, red flags, or unverifiable data
  • Follow strict verification scripts, compliance checklists, and confidentiality standards
  • Ensure all records meet audit and compliance requirements

Performance, Training & Collaboration

  • Maintain and meet operational metrics and SLAs
  • Manage workload queues to prioritize urgent or aging cases
  • Track personal performance against KPIs
  • Attend ongoing regulatory, compliance, and process training
  • Apply updates to verification procedures or client requirements
  • Participate in refresher training, system updates, and quality coaching
  • Assist teammates during peak volumes and support special verification requests
  • Contribute to process improvements or documentation updates when assigned
