Lead Machine Learning Engineer

As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development and monitoring of platforms that will help streamline the creation and deployment of data science solutions made by our Data Scientists. The lead MLE is also responsible for project management, and supporting the growth of the other machine learning engineers in the team.

NATURE OF WORK

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of machine learning projects—from requirements definition to production deployment—ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Owners, and stakeholders to refine technical requirements and translate them into scalable ML-powered product features.
• Architect, design, and oversee the development of services that integrate AI/ML solutions into production systems.
• Drive the design and development of reusable software packages and frameworks to improve Data Scientists’ productivity and model development workflows.
• Establish and enforce software engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines for ML microservices and platforms.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines for ML services and data pipelines.
• Lead the design of reliable, scalable, and observable infrastructure for data platforms and ML systems.
• Make strategic decisions on model serving architecture, including trade-offs between model optimization and system-level optimizations.
• Conduct code and architecture reviews to ensure quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Manage and mentor a team of Machine Learning Engineers, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and career development support.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts and proactively manage stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field).
• At least 4 - 6 years of experience building and operationalizing data pipelines and machine learning systems.
• At least 2+ years of experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• At least 2+ years of experience developing and deploying microservices.
• At least 2+ years of experience managing stakeholders and delivering cross-functional projects.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring or leading engineers (formal or informal leadership.)
