Role Overview

• Designs and develops efficient backend data structure and reports solutions, ensuring that the solution meets data team standards for readability, reliability, and performance.
• Recommends and implements database and development standards guided by the technology's best practices.
• Administers databases and reports applications including, but not limited to, backup and recovery, performance tuning, query optimization, troubleshooting, security and installation of patches and upgrades.
• Ensures validity and accuracy of a data set or all data contained in a database each time data is replacated or transferred.
• Ensures timely update of data and reports by performing monthly data tasks, monitoring daily jobs and sending advisory to data team and concerned department for any technical issue.
• Troubleshoots both reporting solutions and data issues and provides inputs/recommendations for long term solutions to technical problems.
• Implements automation that will help data team in their daily operations.
• Gathers business requirements and translates it into technical design and vise-versa.
• Creates and updates technical, functional and operational documentations. Provides incident and root cause analysis reports for critical issues
• Provides ad-hoc data requests from business and other departments.
  
  

• Graduate of Computer Science or related field
• Extensive experience developing data pipelines using MS SQL Server and SSIS
• Strong experience in creating, reading, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries and stored procedures
• Good understanding of data warehousing principles and best practices, with the ability to design a robust backend data structure to support reporting and analytics
