Description
As the Product Manager for POS (Point of Sale), you will own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for Point of Sale solutions, ensuring seamless integration with POS Hardware into the payment acceptance ecosystem. Your mission is to deliver best-in-class POS experiences for merchants, enabling efficient in-store and omnichannel transactions while ensuring compliance, scalability, and operational excellence.
You will work closely with internal teams (Engineering, Design, Data, Compliance) and external payment providers to enhance merchant onboarding, transaction flows, and feature sets. This role demands deep understanding of payments, hardware-software integration, and merchant experience.
NATURE OF WORK
- Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for POS solutions, including hardware and software capabilities.
- Collaborate with payment processors, gateways, and service providers to design and implement APIs and SDKs for POS.
- Manage the full product lifecycle – from discovery and requirement gathering to launch, optimization, and end-of-life planning.
- Design POS solutions for omnichannel commerce, enabling unified experiences across physical and digital touchpoints.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, security, and PCI DSS standards in POS transactions.
- Define and monitor KPIs such as transaction success rates, merchant activation, POS adoption, and delivery SLAs.
- Drive merchant insights and feedback loops to improve product features and usability.
- Lead integration of POS terminals like Sunmi, Pax, and other hardware providers into the company’s ecosystem for a seamless merchant experience.
- Define Terminal Management Lifecycle and use of AI to optimize and simplify the workflows for below
- Ordering and Procurement – Work with vendors and suppliers to source POS terminals.
- Inventory & Logistics Management – Ensure proper forecasting, stock levels, and storage.
- Configuration & Testing – Oversee terminal setup, security configuration, and QA.
- Fulfillment & Delivery – Coordinate terminal distribution to merchants on time.
- Deployment & Activation – Ensure terminals are operational and linked to merchant accounts.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in POS systems, including:
- Adoption of new payment options such as QR codes, NFC/contactless, digital wallets, crypto, and BNPL.
- Shift toward all-in-one smart POS devices with integrated inventory, analytics, and customer engagement tools.
- Optimizing checkout funnels for faster transactions, higher success rates, and reduced friction in both in-store and online environments.
- Omnichannel enablement for seamless integration between physical stores and e-commerce platforms
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in Product Management, preferably in POS solutions, terminals, payment systems, or financial technology.
- Strong understanding of POS hardware and software ecosystems, including android based terminals and similar smart terminal platforms.
- Experience managing the terminal lifecycle (ordering, configuration, deployment, and maintenance).
- Proven ability to design and launch POS solutions that support multiple payment options (card, contactless, QR, wallets, BNPL, crypto).
- Knowledge of evolving POS trends, including:
- Smart POS adoption
- Omnichannel enablement
- Checkout funnel optimization for higher success rates
- Integration with analytics, inventory, and loyalty systems
- Familiarity with PCI DSS compliance, security standards, and terminal certification processes.
- Strong API/SDK integration knowledge for POS devices and payment processing.
- Analytical and data-driven mindset – able to define KPIs and optimize performance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to future-proof POS strategies by anticipating shifts in payment behavior and incorporating emerging technologies.
- Exposure towards the use of Salesforce is preferable.
