API Engineer

The API Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst / Engineer is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in the design, development, and deployment of APIs delivered by the API Services Team. This role ensures that APIs meet functional, performance, security, and reliability requirements through rigorous testing and validation processes, contributing to seamless integration and optimal user experience.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive API test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Perform functional, regression, performance, and security testing of APIs.
• Collaborate with API developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Automate API testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, JMeter, or similar.
• Monitor and report on API quality metrics and KPIs.
• Identify, document, and track defects; work with development teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure APIs comply with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on API design and implementation.
• Continuously improve QA processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay updated with industry best practices, tools, and technologies in API testing and quality assurance.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 2 years focused on API testing.
• Must be willing to work onsite and be assigned in Ortigas.
