The Accounting Associate is responsible for supporting the Company’s accounting and finance operations, including payroll processing, employee-related financial transactions, and statutory compliance. The role ensures accurate recording and reporting of payroll and accounting entries, proper management of financial documentation, and timely submission of government-mandated requirements.
While the position works closely with HR on benefits and compensation, it is primarily a Finance role focused on ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with accounting and regulatory standards. The Accounting Associate also provides support in day-to-day accounting activities such as fund monitoring, documentation, and financial reporting in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Duties and Responsibilities
Payroll Administration: Manage end-to-end payroll support, including computation of SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG contributions; withholding tax on compensation; employee loan monitoring; and processing all payroll-related deductions.
Timekeeping and Leave Administration: Administer timekeeping and leave management systems to accurately track employee attendance, working hours, and leave utilization, ensuring data integrity and timely resolution of discrepancies.
Compensation and Benefits Administration: Oversee preparation and release of employee benefits, including bonuses, leave cash conversions, birthday cakes, final/separation pay, and employee loans. Process Flexible Benefits claims, review supporting requirements, track utilization, and coordinate vendor payments or employee reimbursements.
Account Management: Administer corporate accounts (e.g., Grab, SimpleTPA) and manage employee allowances for meals, transportation, and related benefits based on HR and Management instructions. Handle HMO enrollments, updates, and cancellations; monitor HMO utilization and prepare periodic reports related to employee healthcare benefits.
Government Compliance and Regulatory Reporting: Ensure timely submission of mandatory government reports, including but not limited to the 13th Month Pay Report and Annual Establishment Report on Wages to DOLE. Process monthly statutory payments and applications with SSS, PhilHealth, and HDMF, and manage compliance requirements such as business permits, licenses, and government clearances.
Records and Documentation Management: Maintain accurate and updated employee compensation and benefits records (salary worksheets, service bonds, training credits, and related files) and safeguard all company government and compliance documentation.
Accounting and Administrative Support Functions: Manage bookkeeping of accounts handled, petty cash, administrative purchasing, and corporate credit cards (application, cancellation, liquidation). Perform accounting support tasks, including managing company loan records, encoding of Alphalist, RELIEF, and SAWT reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.
Experience in accounting and payroll processing.
Knowledge of statutory deductions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and Tax).
Familiarity with government compliance and regulatory reporting, including DOLE and BIR requirements.
Experience managing corporate accounts and vendor relationships (e.g., HMO, Grab).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with HRIS/timekeeping software.
High attention to detail and accuracy in mathematical computations.
High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet strict government deadlines.
Open to continuous training and development.
Excellent communication skills for internal coordination and external agency representation.
Learning agility and willingness to grow (open to junior-level applicants with foundational experience).
