Job Description

The Wealth Sales Officer, Partnership Distribution and Institutional Sales is responsible for identifying and executing opportunities that support the growth of third-party distribution channels and institutional accounts. This role involves developing and nurturing relationships with third-party distributors and institutional investors. The officer will be accountable for increasing the number of active third-party distributors and institutional accounts, as well as growing assets under management (AUM) from these channels. Additionally, the role includes building wholesaling capabilities and ensuring strong governance and oversight of the sales management process for these channels.

Position Responsibilities

  • Identify business opportunities and develop strategic plans to drive the growth of third-party distribution channels and institutional accounts.
  • Establish and expand partnerships with banking institutions, brokers, investment consultants, and institutional investors to enhance the distribution reach of the Company’s investment capabilities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors and consultants.
  • Leverage existing relationships with institutional accounts by implementing proactive, creative, and consistent engagement initiatives.
  • Develop wholesaling capabilities, including tools and training for internal wholesalers and external intermediaries, and implement a disciplined sales management process to support partners.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure product and sales materials are up-to-date and tailored to relevant opportunities.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in partnership distribution, preferably within wealth and asset management, banking, or insurance sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the retail fund market and established relationships with key gatekeepers in banking institutions, brokers, and other stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strategic approach to expanding Manulife’s market share among intermediaries and growing its institutional business, backed by strong execution and a passion for business development.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and a results-driven attitude.
  • Demonstrated success in managing sales professionals.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet team goals.
  • High level of integrity and a strong work ethic.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications.
