Salary Range: ₱70,000 - ₱80,000

The Role

The Software Developer/Test, Quality Assurance Analyst will be responsible for assessing software quality through manual and automated testing whenever possible. The Software Developer/Test, and QA Analyst will ensure that the system and software work correctly and at par to the requirements and specifications of the system. Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle. The Software Developer/Test, and QA Analyst will do a sanity test for new and patches while also planning and executing test cases to ensure high-quality releases.

Your Responsibilities

• Review and analyze functional, design and system specifications
• Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage plan.
• Develop, document and maintain functional test cases.
• Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results.
• Evaluate product/program code according to specifications
• Create logs to document testing phases and defects
• Report bugs and errors to development teams
• Help troubleshoot issues
• Whenever possible, conduct negative case scenarios as well
• Deployment of releases and patches after full round of testing.
• Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
• Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management.
• Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
• Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
• Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
• Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
• Software developer should be able to provide permanent solutions to production issues and incidents and should be able to interact with other application teams for solutions.
• Should be able to perform a quick first-level analysis. All defect fixes of production have to be done with highest level of quality.
• Modify application configurations based on system performance.
• Review code and ensure delivery quality and integration to future versions.
• Create/Modify or assist in Creation /modification of testing plan for unit testing, regression testing and interface testing
• Perform regression testing, performance testing, and integration testing as needed.
• Define UAT support and production support plans.
• Provide performance testing support.
• Analyze, design, develop, and support various change requests from clients.
• Assist Sales and Pre-sales team to come-up with estimated mandays based on the work effort to be provided to the client
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to architecture discussions, and maintain technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance of existing code.
• Work with developers and product owners to understand new features and improve test coverage.
• Performs other tasks assigned to him/her from time to time by his/her Immediate Head.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/software engineering, or other equivalent related courses
• Proficiency or have at least 3 years of experience in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript)
• Experience with software testing frameworks and tools (e.g., JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, Cypress).
• Must have at least 2 years of work experience in Maritime, Government industry in maintenance of production support systems.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and test automation for APIs.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Familiar with Biometrics Data Capturing Machine
• Knowledge of containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage.
• CI/CD tools knowledge (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD) is an advantage.
  
  

• Experience in Quality Management Software and Processes
• Knowledge and experience in technical aspects of software solutions being developed, implemented, deployed and tested
• Business process understanding
• Have either hands on or good understanding on spring framework and web services (SOAP)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
