Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or any related field, preferably Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Sanitary Engineering.
Professional Engineering License in a related field is preferred.
With Basic Pollution Control Officer (PCO) Training Certificate and must be able to obtain PCO accreditation within one (1) year.
At least two (2) years of professional experience in environmental management, pollution control, or related field.

Responsibilities:
Perform duties as the Pollution Control Officer and be the liaison officer with DENR, NWRB and other relevant regulating agencies by building harmonious relationship with various stakeholders and ensuring compliance to and keeping updated with environmental laws/rules/regulations, assess impact, and reporting to and from these agencies in order to comply with the duties stated in DENR Administrative Order 2014-02.
Prepares, reviews and endorses approval of regulatory required reports prior submission with the required timeline (i.e. SMR, CMR, CMVR, EIA reports).
Attend all relevant permitting, licenses and registration requirements of the establishment prior to the construction, installation and operation of pollution sources and control facilities.
Review and evaluate compliance requirements of the technology and develop compliance plan, initiate programs to reduce environmental impacts (i.e. ORMP, HAIRADC).
Supervise and monitor work plan and budget of the Environmental Unit by preparing Monthly & Annual Reports and preparing Purchase Requests to ensure efficient use of resources and on-time delivery of results.
Collaborate with government agencies, business partners, environmental organizations, and community by networking, participating in conventions, complaint management and collaborative efforts to build harmonious productive relations.
Appraise and evaluate the performance of direct reports by giving the necessary feedback for skills upgrade and staff development.
Develop and manage environmental programs by identifying environmental requirements applicable to the technology, conceptualization and preparation of Environmental Programs, implementation and monitoring/ assessing its effectiveness and compliance in order to address the requirement of regulating agencies, internal and external customers.
Communicate to employees, contractors and community the environmental programs by conducting training, orientations, drills and issuance of IEC materials in order to increase awareness and solicit participation/compliance.
Capture and share best practices of other industries by benchmarking, auditing, and exchanging ideas in order to continuously improve environmental performance.
Establish, implement and maintain procedures and work instructions by documenting, reviewing and updating to ensure achieving EHS SHE objectives and targets.
Evaluate and monitor the use of chemicals especially those listed under the Priority Chemical List and those with Chemical Control Order and the generation of solid and hazardous wastes.
Promote Sustainability programs by collaboration with environmental experts, groups or within the organizations to address environmental issues, support, environmental events and other government-initiated projects in order to come up with an annual internal/exetrnal Global Reporting Initiative.
Recommend SHE policies and procedures by reviewing the existing policies and procedures in order to align with the APGen, SHE-RE Policy, corporate goals and environmental rules and regulations.
Report and respond to environmental incidents/concerns/complaints in relation to plant operation and generated wastes by recommending appropriate action in the remediation/resolution of the issue.
Ensure proper implementation of Chemical Safety and Hazardous Wastes Management Program though proper operation and maintenance of Hazardous Waste Storage Facility in compliance to RA 6969 and other best practices.
