Position Accountability Statement

The Senior Product Lead – Value-Added Services is accountable for the end-to-end development and performance of value-added and cross-selling services across MaxiGroup product portfolios.

The role leads the design, attachment, and launch of new value-added services embedded within base life, health, and care products, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives, regulatory requirements, and customer experience outcomes.

Specific Areas Of Accountability

  • Own the VAS portfolio end-to-end across HMO, insurance, and clinic product lines, accountable for strategy, implementation, performance, and continuous optimization.
  • Enhance, design, implement, scale, and manage value-added services (VAS) across Maxicare, MaxiHealth, and MaxiLife, driving customer adoption, engagement, cross-sell uplift, and incremental revenue.
  • Define and execute the VAS product strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with Group growth priorities, customer segments, and lifecycle value objectives.
  • Lead the end-to-end product development and implementation of new and enhanced VAS programs, from ideation and business case development through launch, monitoring, and iteration.
  • Analyze market, customer, and competitor insights—leveraging Research outputs and conducting targeted analysis when needed—and translate insights into enterprise-level VAS initiatives and priorities.
  • Sponsor and oversee market validation, pilots, and phased rollouts, making go / no-go and scaling decisions based on customer uptake, operational readiness, and financial impact.
  • Identify, structure, negotiate, and manage strategic VAS partnerships, including service providers, distribution partners, reinsurers (where applicable), and commercial collaborators.
  • Provide senior-level leadership across functions, working closely with Actuarial, Operations, CIT, and other Division, and Governance Committees to ensure seamless approval, implementation, and launch.
  • Lead the preparation and finalization of VAS product designs, implementation plans, positioning, and portfolio alignment across HMO, insurance, and clinic contexts.
  • Oversee and sign off on contracts, forms, regulatory submissions, and approval documentation related to VAS offerings, as applicable.
  • Ensure all VAS initiatives and implementations comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards, maintaining audit-ready documentation at all times.
  • Establish and track VAS performance metrics (adoption, revenue contribution, customer impact, partner performance), driving corrective actions and optimization where required.
  • Act as the primary escalation and decision authority for VAS-related trade-offs involving scope, prioritization, partnerships, and implementation sequencing.
  • Lead and develop the VAS product team, setting clear priorities and accountability across strategy, development, implementation, and performance.
  • Coach team members to translate customer, market, and commercial insights into scalable, compliant, and value-generating VAS offerings across HMO, insurance, and clinic products.
  • Enable effective cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders.

Desired Skills And Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge & experience in marketing management, product management, project management and/or quality management from a life insurance company
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous leadership or management experience is an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal skills – able to openly discuss ideas and concerns to peers and managers
  • Can easily adapt and work in a fast paced culture and environment
  • Delivers outputs on schedule and manages to work well under pressure
  • Able to collaborate effectively with customers and/or colleagues outside own team structure
  • UX/UI experience is an advantage
  • Experience design
  • Capable of using Design thinking principles and tools
  • Capable of Prototyping and Usability testing

Professional Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree holder in BS Business Administration, Management, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics and related courses
  • At least 8 years’ experience in insurance, healthcare or similar experience with key focus on product and project management.
  • At least 3–5 years leading complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and project management tools
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and/or multi-vendor delivery environments
  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or highly regulated industries is strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
