About The Role

The Senior Legal & Compliance Manager is responsible for safeguarding legal, regulatory, and compliance objectives. This role provides critical legal counsel to leadership, manages corporate governance requirements, and oversees compliance across control management activities, internal policies, and regulatory obligations. The ideal candidate will bring strong legal expertise, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to risk management and compliance culture building.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Advisory

• Handle drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements including service agreements, TOBAs, NDAs, consultancy contracts, co-broking agreements, vendor contracts, and MOUs
• Ensure contractual and operational compliance with local laws and regulations
• Provide legal advise to management on insurance and other commercial matters
• Coordinate with external counsel and support litigation as needed
  
  

Regulatory Compliance

• Oversee and manage compliance with insurance laws and relevant regulations
• Draft, update and refine existing compliance processes, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with direction from regional stakeholders
• Act as the main contact for SEC, IC, AML, NPC, and other regulators
• Act as the main contact for data protection and records management
• Draft and update privacy, records, and information management processes, procedures, and guidelines as directed by regional stakeholders
  
  

Controls Management

• Identify legal, regulatory, and reputational risks and support remediation
• Conduct control reviews and internal compliance examinations and related exercises
• Ownership of the risk register and other documents relating to enterprise related remediation plans
• Ownership of KYC-related processes, including appropriate 2nd level vetting of KYC alerts.
• Ownership of third-party vendor management processes, procedures and guidelines
  
  

Training, Communication & Culture

• Deliver compliance training programs
• Educate stakeholders on regulatory updates, policy changes, and other change management matters
• Promote a strong culture of ethics and compliance across the organisation
  
  

About You

We’re looking for a driven legal professional who brings strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and a commitment to integrity. To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Juris Doctor degree and admission to the Philippine Bar
• 3 to 5 years of experience in corporate or commercial law, preferably in insurance or financial services
• Strong knowledge of commercial laws and insurance regulations
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• High discretion and sound judgment
