About The Role

In this role, you’ll advocate for Gallagher clients by managing claims allocated to designated brokers, branches, or divisions, ensuring all matters are handled in accordance with policy conditions and departmental service standards.

Additionally, you’ll be required to act as second in charge in the Claims Manager’s absence for technical claims matters and support the Claims Manager with projects and initiatives as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide informed advice to clients, brokers, and account management teams on allocated claims, including front line handling of complex matters
  • Deliver specialist claims guidance to clients and colleagues, supporting accurate interpretation of coverage and appropriate next steps
  • Manage assigned claims in accordance with Gallagher claims processes, service standards, and best practice procedures
  • Proactively liaise with clients, insurers, and service providers to progress claims and resolve enquiries
  • Assess claims by reviewing policy wording and circumstances to ensure coverage is maximized and client outcomes are optimized
  • Drive timely claim progression, including obtaining insurer approvals for repairs, payments, or other required actions
  • Maintain an organized claims portfolio and ensure all follow ups are completed within agreed service levels
  • Prepare accurate claims correspondence and ensure timely follow through on all communications
  • Provide structured solutions and clear recommendations to clients and brokers, partnering with the Claims Manager as needed
  • Represent Gallagher Claims professionally in day to day interactions, building trust and strengthening relationships across distribution teams
  • Produce claims statistics and contribute to the development of advocacy stories or reporting as required
  • Support colleagues on complex claim matters and actively coach and mentor team members to uplift capability
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in learning opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including brokers, branch managers, insurers, and loss adjusters, with a focus on continually improving team performance scorecard
  • Maximize the use of the New Claims Team and digital claims lodgement tools to enhance efficiency

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Around 5 years of claims experience
  • Strong organizational skills, able to manage a varied claims portfolio and meet competing deadlines with high service standards
  • Clear and confident communicator across phone, written and in person interactions
  • Strong technical ability to interpret policy coverage and advocate for clients
  • Supports team capability by sharing knowledge and coaching others
  • Solutions focused mindset with the ability to identify root causes and recommend improvements
  • ANZIIF or other local insurance qualification
