Job Description

The Senior Architect is responsible for leading architectural projects from conceptual design through construction completion. This role oversees project planning, design development, technical documentation, consultant coordination, and regulatory compliance while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Senior Architect serves as a key point of contact for clients, project stakeholders and provides supervision and guidance to the Junior Architect/s.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of architectural projects across various phases.
  • Review and approve architectural concepts, schematic designs, and construction documents.
  • Ensure design solutions meet client objectives, project requirements, and applicable building standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to project teams and other internal departments.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and government agencies.
  • Conduct project meetings and prepare progress reports.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and quality control of architectural drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress.
  • Review shop drawings, material submittals, and contractor requests for information (RFIs).
  • Address design and construction issues that arise during project implementation.
  • Ensure construction work aligns with approved plans and specifications.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Graduate of a Bachelor of Science in Architecture.
  • License is an advantage, but not required.
  • At least 35 years of relevant design experience.
  • Proficient or knowledgeable in Autocad, SketchUp, and basic rendering engines like Enscape.
  • Excellent communication, intrapersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be willing to conduct site visits.
  • Proven experience managing complex commercial, residential and mixed-use projects.
  • Strong understanding of local building codes, construction methods, and permitting processes.
  • Knowledgeable in other partner engineering trades. (MEPFS).
