Position Overview

Bureau Veritas S.A. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QAQC Electrical Inspector to join our team on a critical water infrastructure project based in Rizal, Calabarzon. In this full-time role, you will ensure the quality, safety, and compliance of all electrical installations and systems throughout the construction phase. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of electrical safety and performance for this vital water project.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Inspections & Compliance

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of electrical work, installations, and systems to verify compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications
  • Verify adherence to National Electrical Code (NEC), Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), and project-specific requirements
  • Inspect electrical components including wiring, conduits, panels, transformers, switchgear, and distribution systems
  • Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning inspections of electrical systems
  • Verify proper grounding, bonding, and earthing installations
  • Inspect cable routing, terminations, and connections for safety and compliance

Defect Identification & Reporting

  • Identify, document, and report any defects, non-conformities, or deviations from specifications
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports with photographic evidence and corrective action requirements
  • Classify defects by severity (critical, major, minor) and track remediation
  • Conduct re-inspections to verify corrective actions have been completed satisfactorily
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all findings and resolutions

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with electrical contractors, construction teams, and project engineers to resolve issues
  • Provide technical guidance and clarification on electrical code requirements and standards
  • Attend project meetings and provide status updates on electrical work quality
  • Communicate inspection findings clearly to project stakeholders
  • Support timely project completion by identifying and resolving issues promptly
  • Escalate critical safety concerns to project management immediately

Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Maintain detailed inspection logs and daily reports
  • Create and update inspection checklists and testing protocols
  • Document all inspections, test results, and corrective actions in project databases
  • Prepare final inspection certificates and compliance documentation
  • Ensure all records comply with project requirements and regulatory standards
  • Archive documentation for project closeout and handover

Technical Support & Compliance

  • Stay current with latest electrical codes, regulations, and industry best practices
  • Provide technical support and advice to project stakeholders on electrical compliance
  • Review electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
  • Verify material certifications and test reports for electrical equipment
  • Support training and awareness sessions on electrical safety and compliance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of inspection procedures and standards

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years as a QAQC Electrical Inspector or equivalent role in construction
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, PEC, IEC, NFPA)
  • Understanding of electrical systems, components, and installation practices
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
  • Certifications:
  • Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering or related field
  • Valid electrical inspection certification or equivalent
  • Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in inspection documentation and reporting tools
  • Physical ability to conduct inspections at various heights and conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with water infrastructure or utility projects
  • Knowledge of Philippine Electrical Code (PEC) and local regulations
  • Familiarity with QAQC software and project management systems
  • Additional certifications (e.g., NFPA, IEEE, PEE)
  • Experience with electrical testing equipment (multimeters, insulation testers, etc.)
  • Knowledge of renewable energy or smart grid systems
  • Bilingual capabilities (English and Filipino)
  • Experience with construction management platforms
